    BNC to VHF/UHF ??

The only DVR that Radioshack knows anything about is built into the dish network or direct tv which ever they sell. but if your tv is new enough to have more than one rca inputs you can go that route.

    DRV and Multiplexor problem

THINK THIS WAY you have a pipe with water running in it you put a y on it now 1/2 the water runs in each pipe most cameras allow you to adjust the video output level of the camera. In electronics when you split a signal with a T that is a 3db loss or 1/2 of your signal. This is all basic electronics. Soundy he might be having video out level low and needs to set the video output of the camera to 1 volt peak to peak. Most of the dvrs I see like the video a little higher than a crt monitor. The only problem is most people do not have a video meter like fm systems meter to set cameras with.
  3. Glad you got it work good luck in your venture in things you do not understand. Yes the software and hardware is done for a specific market and you choose to to want your way but I have rules to follow because this is how I make my living not work on 1 one time a year. Good luck but you should remember a DVR is a tool that must run 24 hours a day 7 days a week and not crash so it is important you follow the way it is designed and build it buy the specs not the way you want to do things. ADMINS PLEASE LOCK THIS THREAD THIS MATTER NEEDS TO BE CARRIED NO FURTHER.

    DVR

    They record video on harddrives.
  6. Can you connect to the DVR from inside the network on the LAN side? Do you have it setup for multiple connections? 2 administrators are not allowed to both be logged on at the sametime? Is the DVR set to a static address on the lan or is it dynamic? Is the DSL that the DVR is on a static or dynamic address? Are you sure you have all the ports open in the firewall? What version Eyemax software are you using? I need a litle more info to provide anymore help.
  7. automaton79 Sorry if I do not jump when you speak you read what was requested from others it was a photo of the card and ser number of the unit send it to my PM I will compare it to a true Eyemax card and if it is a true Eyemax card I can help you with your software problems also photos taken on a dated news paper will help prove it is your card in hand. Sorry if my demands are a little high but that is the only way I give out more than typed support due to the fact of clone cards in the market.
  8. Well name calling will not help your case and as far as not helping the other person you might want to talk to him before you open your mouth and talk about things you know nothing about as he was helped you on other hand you wish not to listen to someone that has offered you advise you have provided no information so I WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE SOFTWARE I HAVE TRIED TO TELL YOU TO USE 1 OF 2 MOTHERBOARDS INTEL CHIPSETS 815 TO 945 IF YOU DO YOUR HOME WORK YOU CAN FIND THE RIGHT MOTHERBOARD AS FOR VISTA THERE IS SOFTWARE BUT I KNOW NO ONE THAT IS USING IT XP IS STILL THE OS OF CHOICE GOOD LUCK WITH THE CLONE SOFTWARE AND I WILL NOT GIVE A NON DEALER THE DEALER USERNAME AND PASSWORD. MY IDENTY IS NOT HIDDEN AS I WORK IN A STATE THE REQUIRES A STATE LICENSE AND A PROFESSIONAL COMPANY.
  9. See your problem is the older cards and software do not like vista. Also if you want it to work proper you will replace the motherboard with one just like the one that came out of it as eyemax cards and software is very hardware specific in what works. All motherboards are not the same you need to find the right intel or asus motherboard.
  10. 1. Where did you get this dvr from. 2. Have you tried to contact them for the software. 3. Where are you at. 4. What version software did you have. 5. What version chip is on the capture card. 6. Most likely if you do not use the same motherboard chip set ext it will not work. 7. I need more than pictures like a note with the capture card with the date the picture was taken. Sounds strange to me 7 years and I have never lost a motherboard and 2 hard drives at the sametime. Yes I am leary until proven differant sorry.

    MIA

Sorry gang I was MIA for the last month or so 1 off on sicktime with wife 1 off sicktime with bad leg 1 big IP job and 2 Thunderstorms. No rest for me. The big job was 50 Axis IP cameras 1 20 TB server onSSI NETDVMS software 3 work stations with 52 inch monitors and 1 backup 6 TB server. This was our 1st IP system and am very happy the system. We built the cat 6 backbone built the 2 servers inhouse the 3 work stations inhouse 2 24 POE 1 gig switches 1 6 port 1 gig router 2 videoalarm wireless receivers 9 videoalarm wireless transmitters. Now that everybody is back and I have help and my free time is picking up.

This is a place that has 24 hours a day 7 days a week movement that has to be recorded 15 to 20 frames per second hi rez on all 50 cameras no exceptions. We have some places that have 500 gig harddrives with 16 cameras and store video for 6 months but it is not mission critical. Plus we have been visited by ONSSI and AXIS company reps that were very impressed with the quality of video and the number of stored days with this system and We have no problems. AND I BUILD MY OWN DVR's (PC BASED) , NVR SERVERS AND DESKTOPS FOR CONTROL ROOMS. Each system I build is custom built for the site it is to be used not some out of the box designed system for all customers and the cameras for each site are chosen for the needs of the customer (day/night, hirez, dome, ptz).

    Axis release dates?

Not sure about release dates but we just got done couple months ago with a 50 camera install and have no problems with the system. Have not used any of their mega cameras but a word to the wise USE CAT 6 and ALL 1 GIG HARDWARE with 50 non-mega we are dancing around the 100 MB range and MEGAPIX are larger frames. No home office router switches or hardware.

DVR with IP base external storage

Several things have to be looked at 1 going from a standalone to a PC based DVR or analog to IP adapters and NVR server software. 1. Will your network support the added traffic you could be adding? 2. How manny frames per second will each camera be recording? 3. What resolution do you plan to set the cameras to? 4. What do you call large storage? 5. Most DVR's we build start at 500 gig and have up to 4 TB of storage? 6. How long do you want to store video? 7. Most DVR's will let you pick where to store video. 8. What is your budget for this project? 9. Do you want to view this remote inhouse/internet? 10. The place that this system is going to be installed how many hours a day is it open and the % of movement during those hours? These are a good set of questions you need to look at before making your choice on a DVR. When you post these answers several people here can point you to several different DVR's that can do the job you want do.
  15. 1. Oliver where did you get the card and software. 2. Does it say failed to start card not found. 3. What version software are you running. 4. Did you build this or buy it already built. 5. Have ever seen it work proper. 6. How manny capture cards are in the system. The more we know about your system the more help we can provide.

Need to enhance EyeMax video files

As I stated I am awhere you can save as AVI but most things are saved as a backup so you can see multiple views of the same incedent and this is what everybody wants to edit. I have been in contact with 2 large forensic labs that have had a interest in editing this and not got anywhere. And as always if you edit your video it may not accepted in court. What the FBI and other Government agencies do to edit video are by very trained people and with very special software tools. So as stated keep your systems more cameras tighter views more resolution more harddrive space and you will not have to modify the video.

Need to enhance EyeMax video files

Well if you find who done the dvd you have please share the source.
  18. Sorry to tell you but you just turned you PC into a DVR. A DVR has only 1 purpose record and store video they use alot of resourses of the PC your dealer you bought the card and software should have given you the manual with all the information in it or is this a EBAY card. Call your dealer for this information.

Need to enhance EyeMax video files

Mr Hofmann sorry to be the one to tell you the bad news but if it is out there the federal government has it and will not share it. I have been using these DVR's for over 6 years without ever finding software that does this for this file system. The only thing you can do is to use more cameras more storage and better res when setting up the system because what you see is what you get. Thats why this market should be done by people that are trained in the cctv market. If people are cheap and skimp on their install they should not whine if the VW is not performing like a CORVETTE.
  20. We are running almost the same setup. 50 axis IP cameras, 2 24 port 1 GB POE switchs, 1 6 port 1gig router with 5 gig through put, 1 custom built server with 2003 server 20 1 TB harddrives 2000 watt power supply 1 EXON 2.66 gig quad core 16 gig ram server custom built buy us with a emergengy backup server with 6 TB hard disk 1 XEON 2.66 gig quad core with 8 gig of ram to run when doing maintence on the main server. 3 control stations with 52 inch monitors all run on cat 6 9 of which are wireless with 5 of those PTZ's. You are gonna have to have an IT background and understand networking to work through the system. Also you need to go to onSSI training school. Also I hope you are not using the customers network to carry your video on as it will not hold up to the traffic. You have to look at each control station in the total calculations. If all cameras use 50 MB bandwidth total the each control station will use 50 MB of bandwidth for a total of 150 MB. THE HARDWARE IS THE KEY LINKSYS HOME ROUTERS AND SWITCHES WILL NOT CARRY THE LOADS THAT THESE SYSTEMS GENERATE.

These are standard IP's and the target was 30 to 45 days have 12 outside cameras with 5 being PTZ's and we are getting more than our max target storage. Like I said this job was alot of fun to work on and it has some growth in it also.

Thanks my friend glad to be back I have come in and looked but not much.

    Bandwidth

I can log into the IP server and veiw up to the avaliable band width just as easy as a dvr. The system we installed uses alot of band width due to the nature of where it is.
  24. Do a google search with pico2000 vista you might be a lucky one and maybe not.
  25. If lighting is your problem you should use the Axis 221 Day/Night we did and have no problems the 211 is best used in a well light area.
