    4-camera DV-9120 system question

    1. Where did you buy the 9120 card? 2. What version software do you have? 3. What type motherboard is in the dvr? 4. What type of video card in in the dvr? 5. Where are you located? Could you send me a picture of your card? Has this dvr ever worked and you seen it working?

Is this a new system or one that you have used before and seen work or did you buy this used from ebay. I will need some history first. 1. What version is the software. 2. Where did you get this unit. 3. If you built it motherboard and video card brands and model numbers. 4. Do you have the administrators password. Tell all about your system plus I would like to see a picture of the capture card. A nice closeup card full frame. Then I might can help you.
  3. IP cameras are not for people that do not understand networking. You are having problems with this then what are you going to do when you try to find out why the network crashes just because you do not understand bandwidth. I would advise you take a computer networking class at your local college. I am building a 40 camera axis system tied to a handbuilt 36 terabyte server and built my own network backbone cross tied to the clients network that works without loading his network but it is still viewable by the customer.
  4. Could not find any more info to get frame sizes but at the rates you you are looking at it should be 2 gig per camera per 24 hours estimate only plus audio if any you could be looking at around 32 gig per day so a 500 gig drive is 15 days. Now why do you need 30 fps 24 hours a day. Unless you are trying to catch a card shark 10 to 15 fps will do you just fine. Also why not use motion detection most good dvr's on motion detection when it sees motion goes back x seconds and saves it to the hard drive motion can save you up to 50% or more hard drive space.
  5. You can use a linksys wireless bridge set it up to connectto your wireless router and after you set it up just plug it into your network port on the dvr.
  6. Sir these are not not crazy prices. You ask for advise from people that do this for a living and see people like you everyday that has spent money on a cheap budget system or bought from a fly by night person. SO GOTO TO SAMS OR COSTCO AND BUY THE $1000.00 SYSTEM. THEN GO SPEND MORE WHEN YOU ARE NOT HAPPY.
  7. For the price you listed you will not get anything more than what you have looked at sorry for the bad news. Camera = $250.00 to over $3000.00 depending on what you want. DVR = $1000.00 entry level Do you want remote viewing? not at entry level pricing. How long do you want to store video. Do you want to use this in court for shoplifters. Who is goning to be in court to say that is authentic unedited video? What do you recommend to your customers a package that says oil no name or name brand, a package that says air cleaner or name brand, you get the idea. The bottem line is you get what you pay for. Name brand parts or cheap knockoffs clones.
  8. First off not all DVR's are the same so we need more info. 1. What brand DVR do you have. 2. What type of compression is used. 3. What is the frame size per frame (4k per frame) ect. Get us more info and we can help.
  9. Divis MPG96032AMX any war stories good bad tech support I have a customer that is wanting this board buy name for a system.

Help with buying a good CCTV system

kraemer94 I am not against the do it yourselfer. You have the skill to do the job just not equipment knowledge. All I am saying is buy mid range or better equipment so you do not spend your money on a system you are not happy with. 1.Quality and length of storage on the dvr. 2.The area and light conditions that are to be viewed. 3.Do I want the video to be good quality at night low light. 4.How long will the coax runs be 12dc or 24ac cameras. kraemer94 these are the things you need to work out then build a budget on what type of system you want. Not what can I get for this money if you buy low end you will never be happy.

Help with buying a good CCTV system

For what you want to spend you might as well go to sam's club and buy the cheap system they sell because you will not get anything that will cover any more for that cheap. You will tell that someone is in the yard but you will not be able to tell who they are day or night. You are looking at good day night cams that have good picture quality at a round $600.00 each street price now go buy you a good dvr that has some good features lets say thats about $2000.00 street price as you see you are looking at very low end budget priced equipment. I hope this helps you. Like it is stated by others you get what you pay for.
  12. The one thing you forgot is AXIS is on their 6th and 7th generation IP Cameras and all the other guy's are on generation 1 or 2.
  13. Marko glad you got worked out. 1. Anytime you convert it's not 100%. 2. The highest price with all the bells and whistles is not always the best.
  14. Yes we just got our axis dealer ship setup and had the axis class. Very impressive cameras if they are used in the proper setting.
  15. You would be better served to install a 2nd serial card so it will have a true com port address and stop using the usb adapter that most likely is your problem.
  16. I have used linksys routers with no problems the other brands of routers will not do a range of ports so you have to make a rule for each port We have over 100 in the field and I have no problems connecting. Also with linksys routers I am running a dvr and IP cam on the same static IP with no problems.
  17. Goto video settings on the computer that only sees one screen settings advance troubleshoot and set hardware axcelleration to less more in the middle of the slider or less you also need to run ati video cards only or built in intel video.

    Eyemax AJAX system

The capture cards are and software are matched pairs to speak. I am not sure why you are having problems I have over 100 in the field with no connection problem. What version software are you running? I have one more thought but will post the answer in open view but will send you a pm.

    Speco Intensifier cams...

I have 10 of them in a site that has a street light across the street and you can see people clearly in color around the edge of the building the best advice is go to the speco school and learn. The state I work in has education requirments for for burg fire and cctv so I go to schools to meet state requirments for training cerdits this line of work is not as easy as pull a little wire buy a camera put it up the last commmit was for do it yourselfers. As stated before each camera and each dvr has its place and it the installers that need to learn what works best in each place. I also have 8 outside at another location that relies on moonlight and they work fine at night when the moon is brite and no cloud cover.

    Speco Intensifier cams...

They have there place they do not like total darkness they inhance the subject in the light that is there but in the right envirment they are better than box camera's or IR's. That is where we the Pro Shop's are to know the differance and install the propper camera in the propper place.
  22. The breakroom is not a room where a person would expect privicy you are just using it for that. A room of privicy is a bathroom , locker room , changing room , bedroom ect. In most states you donot even have to display any warning of recording just check your state laws.

    Speco Intensifier cams...

We have several in the field now all that we have put in have found them more to their liking than IR or low light BW camera's as for power hungry they use less than 1/2 the power of ir camera's so take it for what it is worth and make your own minds and goto the speco class at your local distributor and learn more and where they work best.
