    Camera on forklift

Multiple AP will probably have to be your best bet for this application, and using that toshiba camera would be your best bet since is already ready for wifi, and it's priced really nice compared to other similar solutions out there.

covert high res camera needed for small 8' x 12' room

I have used the GE model smoke detector with great success. Picture quality is really good for a lens so small.

sanyo tiger vs. ge dvrme-ct16 ??

Well, the Cheetah is very nice unit for the price, while the GE is a solid unit all around. It all comes down to that the sanyo unit costs less than the GE.

sanyo tiger vs. ge dvrme-ct16 ??

SANYO TIGER is a waste of money, go with the cheetah and you will save yourself around 1K. in terms of funcionality, they both are pretty much the same, but the SANYO is a little bit cheaper.

    Bluenet video server

Bluenet is not bad for applications like this one, but I personally won't do it in a security installation.

    Secvurity System upgrade

Go with COAX, if money is not an issue, use WESTPENN cable.

    Computer to DVR?

But it is much easier to just get a router, I use Linksys with no problems.

    CQOne DVR

I would be interested in testing that also, is there a way that I can get a link to it? Thanks!
  14. Nice acesment Geeks, but also to take in consideration is that most infrastructures outhere where designed to handle only regular data networks. When you throw video and in some cases, audio in the mix, you can end up with a huge bottlenecks no matter what kind of compression the DVR uses, also, I have done some installations where there are more than 5 clients connected to the unit at one time, and the lag in just no acceptable, only remedy was to throw a second data line and a second router, bridged together to make the video suatible for use.

    clinton dvrs

OEM HISHARP and AVTEC DVR's. Not too bad for the price, but it all depends how much you are paying for them, as they are low end equipment. http://www.clintonelectronics.com/dvrs.htm#digital%20video%20recorders
  16. Don't forget more costly.

    Some Suggestions PLEASE!

Uh! Well, I have done it only a few times and never has a problem, but these where with regular CRT monitors, not LCD's. One learns something new everday.

Why a GEO card? There are more alternatives out there, like I-VIEW and Netpromax for example.

    Some Suggestions PLEASE!

Why not go with a cheap quad? just use something like a "Y" BNC connector ont he back, and wire both monitors to it?

    bullet cameras

I have used toshiba for a lot of things, I mean they are not the greatest in the world, but for the quality that they have, you really can't beat the price.

wow! what a difference in cameras!

Wow, real nice. Althought MACE get's most of the cameras from YOKOTEC out of taiwan, they seem to work a little better than most other taiwanesse manufacturers. I got to look into them.

    bullet IR halo

Another solution that has worked for me all the time, no matter how cheap the camera, is to put a very light tint on the glass itself. The cuts the IR light right out and the camera actually performs better, I have seen some cameras even give me a crisper color view during the day, when normally, I would see the colors a little washed out.

    Outdoor Gate Surveillance

Don't go over to ebay and start looking around. Most of the stuff that they have are junk that won't work after a few feet away. How about installing a regular day night camera in the house, and put a nice 60-100mm lens zoomed right into the gate, that will do the tick, and cost you probably less than a cheap outdoor PTZ.
