Mount the dome to an electrical box and hide the connectors in the box

A job I just completed on an hourly basis (silly me) and having the main contractor question my hours. Just wanted a rough estimate of what you guys think, I don't think I am far off

Got into a discussion over hours billed for prewiring a jewellery store with 22 cameras coax/18/2.
The store has accessible ceiling and is approx 200' by 200'. How many hours do you guys think

Supercircuits does a covert camera like that, not sure about the quality though. Could use the set up and put your own camera in.

I thought Baxall's camera range were absorbed by Dedicated Micros, if so you could call them,

The costs will mount up with doing wireless with service calls, interruption of signal etc. As you can see everyone is steering away from the wireless route.
Also a locally recorded system might be an option, viewed only when there is an incident

If the cable or phone company could drop a line at the pool houses you could do it over a network, DSL etc.

Look at Louroe for stand along mic products

You need a coax to IP converter, drop AK357 a PM he deals in these

If it has a 3 axis gimbal then it will be fine, if not mount it under a soffit or use a goose neck bracket

Yes, that is what I suggested, be interested to find out how it works out

Never done it but you may be able to install a balun to convert it to coax and use the Foresight VDS2500 product

The older PTZ type cameras might have a large box (receiver) next them, this would be for the Pan, tilt and zoom breakout wiring.
-
Was it a jumper or resistor, what type of PTZ's and DVR are they?

Hello Atom and welcome
-
The Tx and RX modules are for transmitting dome control signal (RS485) and are not ethernet. To view and control these domes via a network you would need:
a) Video card with NVR software or
b) Networkable DVR and software

Bought a little pocket one from Radio Shack years ago and was the butt of many a joke, but still working and very handy. After all for Access and CCTV most of the time only need low volt AC/DC and Ohms.

You can plug it into the outlet, may want to use a UPS/surge protection also

Same wires, typically 18/2 as in the siamese
