8 way splitter = $500+5 sets of HDMI/Ethernet Extenders = $875
Dual Cat5e runs to 5 locations = $750
Installation/programming = $450
Total = $2575.
How much is a modulator?
I am not sure I like your pricing
I can easily do for probably half

That's a lot of $$ and a lot of mess. Thinking a modulator through the cable system is the way to go.hmm lot of $$ ?
I guess it's depend what and who is talking
check prices for modulator
and get back to us

I don't see any HDMI over Ethernet splitters, just extenders.Put extenders after splitter

Client wishes to have HDMI output from NVR broadcast to five televisions in five on-site offices. I informed them they could monitor the NVR from their desktop PC, but they insist on having it viewable on the TV in each office.I researched HDMI splitters (StarTech/Monoprice), but all list a cable length limitation of about 15' ~ 20'. The offices are from 20' ~ 75' distant from the NVR.
Any ideas?
Edit: The TV's are all connected to Comcast for regular viewing. Is there an HDMI modulator that works with digital cable?
How about
HDMI over Cat5
lots of choices

I monitor seven Avigilon servers using the Avigilon client. The IP address of one of the sites has changed. Each time I restart the client, the settings for that site have reverted to the old IP address. I have to re-enter the new IP address using Client Settings->Site Networking. How do I make the new IP address permanent?Best,
Christopher
Do you have a admin rights on the client computer? We have had this issues at one of our projects where the users don't have windows admin rights.
Been fixed

Chris,

Yes, it's a ceiling. Would this be the reason? But the driveway is not visable in the new camera, which it should be, because it has a lower "lux".Absolutely
move to the right
and plz post new picture

Hi thats not the solution I am looking for. I am looking for a box with analog video connectors in one end and a WLAN or Ethernet connector in the other end. Any further hints?

I guess there's not much love for Synology on this forum. It's a great NAS. Just not so much for surveillance (mainly because of the playback). After 20 years you playing with Synology
I feel sorry for you
I have several DVR's and NVR's collecting dust because they are either poor performance or poor security. Now that Synology supports Docker, I'm hoping one of the better software solutions will provide an image. I like that the Synology is "set it and forget it" as opposed to a dedicated PC or server.
I'd really like to add and upgrade my cameras to HD or even 4K. I'm open to suggestions regarding a reasonably priced software/hardware solution (especially if I can leverage my NAS.)
In my opinion
very hard to beat Avigilon soft with HIK cameras

Since my last question on how to use a PIR, I did a whole lot of searching and I can narrow down my question. Can someone please tell me where I can find a wireless PIR-sensor which sends a signal to a base station which I can in turn wire to a DVR?
So to depict a clear picture:
- I'd like to place 3 wireless PIR-sensors
- the base station (= device that receives the signal from a PIR-sensor) should be able to identify which sensor has been triggered and wire that specific sensor's alarm output to an alarm input on a DVR
Does such a system exist?
Many thanks if you point me in the right direction.

Hi. I would use a distribution amp they are cheap enoughAlso if your using TVI or CVI dvr a t- splitter will not work

You can do that by using a BNC "T" connector and while it is not technically correct it works perfectly okI would be careful to use words "perfectly ok"

Because it's like 6 meters high and there is only one mounting and one ethernet cable. Difference in time is like an hour or so. Only difference is the lighting on this sign.
Damn, I hate it when I try to make honest comparison test, standing on -10oC freezing my ass off and everyone is suspecting some kind of manipulation or marketing action
Nobody suspecting manipulation at all
we just ask you?
Thx for demo

So can a 9v battery but the code considers anything below 75v Low Voltage.
In electrical power distribution, the United States 2005 National Electrical Code (NEC) defines low (distribution system) voltage as 0 - 49 volts
But in Europe some country consider 36 V and under as low voltage
-
Why did you test under different light and time?
-
Low voltage is anything under 75v75V can kill with right current
-
Your fourth option is to call Avigilon and get a demo. Then call Genetec and tell them your institution is considering Avigilon as you upgrade all your analog to IP...

I will have a wired connection (1000Mbps), you can see it on the picture, it will be connected to 2 Gigabit switches.
I can add cables/switch if needed.
For simplicity and flexibility I would suggest to use VMS ( 2 computers need it)

Hi everyone,I plan to build a new system for two buildings, and I need some advices on which NVR to use, see the following graphic :
What kinda connection will you have between buildings? (hard wire,wireless,fiber...?)

Up til now any installation of HD analogue cameras has been pretty run of the mill domestic or small commecial. But I have a job upgrading an existing system of 42 cameras in a fairly large distribution warehouse. The existing system utilises some specialist cameras besides general overview of other areas. There are two NPR cameras running 60mm lens's for close ups of number plates from a mounting position 100m back from the gates. There are three used for item tracking on the loading conveyor system. These cameras are not only recorded but used in real time on a day to day basis. ie the number plates are manually logged and approved for entry to the site before the gate is opened. Therefore the digital zoom on playback is of little use , what is needed is a realtime close up view of the numberplates as they seek entry. (hence the 60mm lens)After doing a fairly comprehensive search of distributors in Australia , it seems the only choice of analogue HD cameras (CVI,TVI or AHD) is a fixed 3.8mm lens , a 2.8 - 12mm varifocal , not counting the ptz models. So it seems that a replacement in analogue HD is not available for anything above 12mm.
So what I'm asking is - anybody know where I can get an analogue HD camera with a lens bigger than 12mm ?
What about Hybrid system
meaning IP and Analog
Example: Avigilon Encoders and IP cam
by the way Avigilon has Box IP 4-82 mm ( 2MP)

Commercial Wireless up to 400 yards?Have an inquiry from one of my clients:
Does anyone know of any Wireless Commercial Camera system(s) that could transmit video up to 400 yards, with duplex audio. Are there any video xmitter/receiver systems (don't need record) that could accomplish this?

I don't believe there will ever be peace in the Middle East, at least for a long time. What is needed is for the rest of the world to set up safe zones in the war torn countries the refugees are coming from. This will need to include the Euro countries.
How about sent ALL of them to countries like
Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates....
They can easily afford

The only reason I wanted to update the firmware was so I could change the motion detection area, I didn't realise this but you can actually change this on the cameras from within the iVMS programmeUse Firefox
