You may check with vivako.com. The NDVR solution for all types of cameras suggests a way to future transition to IP cameras.Thank you for the suggestion but Vivako does not appear to have the physical presence in Canada that I would require. The equipment would also require appropriate electrical approvals such as cULus or ULC, etc. for use in Canada and this is not verifiable.
Did you check Avigilon?

It's a pretty sophisticated GPS that lets you create data streams. You can select the IP address and port no that the data string is exported to. I don't know much about networking but I experimented with a couple of DVR's by setting the GPS data stream to the DVR's IP address and POS port but no data came through. I think there are various POS protocols that the DVR is looking for with rules for carriage returns etc. Maybe I need to get some code written that converts the GPS ASCII string to the protocol that the DVR will accept? The alternative is a DVR that the underwater robotics industry uses like VisualDVR which is a 4U rack mount PC that costs about $12,000 + yearly license fees which is overkill for my purpose.
Hmm,
what if u use dash camera with GPS,
of course, u will have to make the camera waterproof:)

I have few Sanyo cams
Are you interested?
I was just able to finally update the firmware on a HD4000. Basically:1) download the auto-ip update program from the url above. The update version allows you to upgrade the firmware while the previous version of auto-ip does not.
2) using the auto-ip program search for the cameras
3) if the camera appears and is blank in the name field, I called it Sanyo4000. Giving it a name appeared to make a difference, because then the firmware update button was not greyed out anymore.
4) I put the .bin and .hex files in the same folder as the auto-ip program. I also made a folder called vcc-hd4000 and put them in there, since I read on another forum that the auto-ip program is supposed to make a directory for you and you're supposed to put the .bin and .hex files in there. After I ran the search, it did not create the folders, so I did it myself.. not sure if that's why it eventually worked.
5) On the left side it will say "Update available". Click on the update firmware button in the upper right.
6) Wait about 10 minutes.
A couple notes that may have influenced my success:
I'm using a Windows XP computer that also has .NET 1.1 installed. I have triied vieweing the camera in IE on WIndows 7 and 10, but Windows XP is the only one where the zoom and other buttons work correctly. So updating the firmware might also work better on XP with .NET 1.1.
Also, I connected the camera directly to my computer while doing the firmware update. I set my computer's IP to 192.168.0.10 and the camera was 192.168.0.2.
Also, make sure you don't have anything else accessing the camera while the firmware is updating.

I have a Hikvision hybrid DVR which generates prorietary MP4 files. I can get these on to a memory stick and therefore on to my computer but I cannot find any software that will convert to a more standard format. Ideally I want it to run on a Mac but I would settle for a Windows product running on a vuirutal machine if necessary. The only Hikvision software I can find is all in chinese. You need HIK "Format Convert" software
Yes, that's what I downloaded but it was chinese. However I have subsequently downloaded something else of the same name which is English. However it still requires Windows but I will probably have to live with that
My is in English
but I do not have main "Exe"

Hello everyone.I am currently working on a project with Chrysler Motor Group. I am installing two separate systems with two cameras each. (2 Servers, 4 cameras total). They are going on autonomous machines to supervise accidents, errors, etc.
I am going to use LTS 4K Cameras (Re-branded Hikvision) with Avigilon ACC 5 or 6, haven't decided.
My question is this. How many licenses will I need for this?
I know you can buy the different server editions and separate camera licenses as well. Do I need both?
If someone could shed some light for me on this topic that would be great.

Who is your local Avigilon sales engineer?
Where are u located?
Hi im about to take on a installation that has around 120 cameras & im after some realistic advice in terms of the camera network ectSite will have network switches located around the site, connected back to the server room via fibre. movement profile on 80% of cameras will be in the low detail, low motion profile
ive done 50-60 camera installs in the past without a problem but the size of this i thought it would be best to ask before making a bad choice
ive undertaken the tutorial in the partner resource center "NVR-3-Standard and NVR-Premium best practices for 1 and 10GbE networks"
so im a bit confused after the tutorial
Cheers Andrew

Hello, my company is trying to replace the software we currently use for our camera system, as the software is a bit old. We have roughly 40 coax cameras now, but with a new addition to the building, we'll have around 60 total.I've looked up a lot of software, but a decent amount aren't compatible with co-ax cameras, or they don't support the necessary amount of cameras, so I figured I'd try here. We're not looking for anything super cheap, they're willing to spend a good bit on the software.
Any good recommendations for the software or the new coax cameras? Thanks

WIFI Cameras and ability to view outside home networkDear forum colleagues and experts
I did a lot of reading to understand how is it possible to have remote viewing of a wifi camera from outside home network. I understand that there is a p2p technology deployed these days to enable simplest configuration.
My understanding based on readings:
In camera / cam there is a unique ID UID assigned by the manufacturer.
When the smartphone app is opened it pings p2p server which looks for listed UIDs and where they are located.
If the camera can be pinged, it shows as online, others are offline.
Once the cameras are reached, it creates a direct connection between the app and the camera.
My question:
1. Who maintains this p2p server? I can understand that companies like foscam dlink etc have resources infrastructure can do so but how come products are available (like spy cams wireless etc) wherein this facility of remote viewing is offered. Who maintains p2p server for them?
See list below http://www.ebay.com/bhp/wireless-spy-camera wherein so many products are available?
These are unbranded generic unknown brands in most cases yet they work in many cases. So who provides for the p2p technology for them as this p2p server maintenance is required continuously?
google about "stun protocol"

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle, I just tried IE and it did work. For the last few months the only one that worked for me was chrome. " title="Applause" />Firefox and Chrome NPAPI plugin support has been discontinued
it is ways around
but that another story
also IE Tab plugin for Chrome works
-
To try and answer your first question, try chrome browser with ie tab installed. Or try Pale moon browser. IE and firefox don't work for active x plugins anymore.IE works fine
Chrome and firefox do not!

I have read here in the past that adding a newer version license will upgrade the older licenses attached to the server.I am wondering if this is still how the license upgrade works? I have version 5 licenses and am adding new licenses that are version 6.
Thanks
You have to upgrade Ver 5 first (to ver 6)
then u can add Ver 6 Lic

Hello;I am looking to secure a large piece of land which currently holds 500+ junk cars.
Due to the size of the lot I need an IP solution with which I can use IP cameras from assorted manufacturers and have a high quality software solution with which to search for events and review recorded video.
I would like to use Hikvision or Axis cameras with Avigilon, Milestone, or equivalent server software.
My preference if for Hikvision cameras due to the affordable cost and quality image.
Any integrators here can recommend which software platform to use?
Thanks.

I have a centralized VMS (using Milestone XProtect Corporate) that connects to multiple remote VMS site which has its own set of local cameras. If I would like to change those remote VMS to Avigilon VMS, is it possible? Can I ask you why?
Would like to incorporate video analytic on the remote end using Avigilon self-learning capabilities. Also, there are some constraints - network bandwidth and disk storage.
Understand that Avigilon uses HDSM which will greatly reduce the bandwidth, but it is only for Avigilon, not with Milestone.
Come across H.265 which is better than H.264 in term of bandwidth and size. Does Avigilon support H.265?

I have installed the above camera on my property, with a view that as it has an SD card for storage I would not require or want a separate NVR.. Local storage is fine for the purpose..I can remote into the camera via the configuration tool but am having problems being able to view the camera remotely ie on my mobile..
I have attempted the Avigilon mobile app but this seems to need to connect via a server, which I have not got.. I am just wanting to remote view and playback..
Any ideas please?
You right,
Avigilon mobile pull video from server
you can probably find stand alone App for your ph which will work with Avigilon
I can not help you because I never open any cams direct on Internet
May be you should buy Avigilon single Core Lic
