  4. hello all,

i recently acquired an ADPRO FastTrace and need to test it.

-problem is i dont have the video central software.

the system itself is doing everything it should do when powered up.

does anyone know where i can get the software(lite, gold, platinum - any!) free online??

i noticed there's an app for the iphone(itrace) but currently no app for android(just my luck!), all i want to do is see if the system is all ok etc.

any ideas welcome and thank you in advance!

    regards,

    ptzguy

  5. ok...

i install adata dvr's almost every day hopefully we'll get to the bottom of this

i change port 80(http) to 37776, and forward ports 37776, 37777 and 37778i also set the router firewall to 'low' - i think this is where you guys are going wrong

i add the address to my 'trusted sites' list in 'internet tools' - 'security'

in that window i uncheck the 'https' box otherwise you have to enter https:// in your address bar - i think this is where you may be going wrong also.

i go into 'advanced options' - 'security' and check the following boxes; allow active content to run... etc... and allow software to install even if...etc etc...

    g'luck

  6. hey all,

i have recently been asked to network a dvr and find an app that would work with an i-phone...

i have never heard of this brand but perhaps someone could shed some light, it's a TEKNOTRONIC 4ch dvr... anyone have an idea which app would work the best??

  7. Hi all,

Just done an install for a chap and he was asking me if I could relocate his satellite tv system.

Its just a box and a 4 way booster, simple enough... as it's not being moved too far away, about 15m, would it be ok to use up my half rolls of RG59 instead of buying fresh rolls of RG6(which I wouldn't use again for another 2-3yr)???

    Any comments/guidance welcome.

  8. Yeah thats why I mentioned it, I dont normally run 12VDC over 150' for cameras, I go AC for longer runs. Though if its a really low current draw like a mini bullet or dome, then it could go a few hundred, but id have thought 650' would be pushing it.

With all the bloody sunshine you guys get over there how come you dont have solar powered cctv?!

  9. Vista do a 19" and upwards flatscreen, now if I remember correctly there was 2 channels available with remote control(ch1, ch2 or pip). 1x BNC input and 2x BNC outputs...

The only thing is, and maybe they have corrected it now, there was no mirror option, so what you saw was not a mirror image, if you walked to the left, on-screen you would be walking to the right.

We contacted Vista about this so they knew, we was sent 2 and 1 was faulty - bad start but that was years ago, they've surely got their act together by now!

Oh and another thing - I remember them costing a small fortune!

  10. Ptz i was taught to use siemese cabke and it is what i know. As far as using cat5 or cat6 with balums is concerned. I am not sure about it yet. How good is reliability? Points of failure and so forth.

Using Cat5 is fine however because it's solid core care must be taken when pulling-in the cable, watch for snags as solid core breaks easily.

As for baluns they're fine(as long as you dont buy the mega cheap ones!), there was an issue once with Adata POE baluns where the RJ45 connector was a bit of a loose fit causing intermittent picture problems. They soon rectified that problem and started producing baluns that had a good solid connection with the RJ45 connector.

I would have definately used Cat5 for the longest run, if they wanted to add another 3 cams at a later date you wouldn't have to pull cables all the way.

  11. An hour after I installed the 8th camera on my mux16tc multiplexer, the unit froze up completely. I reset the power and now all it does is beep continuously when plugged in, no system check, cams or no cams. Thinking the unit was just used up, I plugged in an identical multiplexer backup only to have the exact same thing happen after 30 minutes. Any ideas why this would happen? Logic says something with the new camera, but when I plug in each camera to test individually to a monitor they all seem fine. Now I am scared to try a quad backup or new dvr until I have more answers..

have you tried putting a volt meter across your BNCs (outer and inner pin) and see if readings are the same. (everything powered up)

Yeah, sounds like the camera in question is throwing back some voltage to the mux, I've had that before but not with a mux - faulty cam.

  12. Ok, am I right in thinking that the power is not the issue here it's the video??

I've had a few problems with siamese before so no longer use it, thankfully it was only short runs and it ended up in the bin. I use RG59 and a good quality 2core .5 or .75 over distances, unless I'm using cat5 of course.

  13. hi cctvlad. you are caught in the build cheap problem. nothing you have matches. .. your dvr. dont expect it to do much for $100. .......... and your $30 control unit is none programmable. you need to change your controller to one that you programme your tours.

but with the set-up you have i would not set your ptz to tour. it will fill the h/drive in a few days (your ptz chanel will be recording all the time) say 3-4 days. and thats no good if you want to take a holiday or go away for a long weekend.

...the motors will die before you know it too cctvlad.

As for getting into the PTZ menu have you tried going through the PTZ presets in the DVR(preset 85,90,91,95 etc.)??

  14. Hi Raul,

Have you tried to contact the Lupus technical team direct?

What ports are assigned in the network screen of the DVR menu? All of these need forwarding through your router nat/firewall.

I'm quite sure there are 1 or 2 more ports that need forwarding for control, I can't find anything online therefore contacting their tech team would be your best bet.

    G'luck.
