  1. Hey Sandman,

I've recently been using the Monalisa VCM24-VF for my outdoor applications. If setup with a solid DVR and good quality cable you should have a happy customer. What I specifically like about these cameras is there ability to adjust the picture at night giving you a clean, crisp picture. They also keep the image quite vivid. Defiantly some better cameras out there, but for the money defiantly a solid contender.

  2. What are some of you IP selling points over a cheap analog system? When a customer can get away with a really nice analog system with clear picture quality day and night for under a $1000 why spend the extra $$$'s on IP...?

I always suggest it based on the area we are trying to cover ( if its a very large area then ip cameras are a great choice when you can capture with 2mp or 3mp camera)

  3. At the end of the day unless this system fulfills either a purpose of cost, quality and or both then it will not be viable to options that already exist. Why would anyone in there right mind pay more for something that isn't better HDcctv over IP. HDcctv needs to become as close to analog pricing as possible or at least cheaper then it costs to train or hire an IT guy to properly setup your network. Unfortunately the reality is that IP is going to be the standard in the near future and if you don't poses the tools to accomplish these systems , then you will be left in the dust.

  4. What are you thinking for budget? I would personally recommend the CNB Monalisa VCM-24VFH. Many people recommend this camera and from personal experience it work great. I live in a area which gets very cold and these cameras have no problem standing up to the heat. They also give a really nice picture. Use a quality cable-not the cheap stuff, good power supply (Altronix), and a solid D1 DVR that does true D1 (120fps). I think with a setup like this you will be very satisfied. If you are looking for more then the best direction is NVR with megapixel cameras (much more expensive).

    Good luck!

  5. Hi everyone,

First post. We are looking to install 4 CNB VCM-24VFH on a farm in Minnesota... Harsh winters so we are getting the heater version. We would like to have a DVR that can showcase these cameras at there full potential. Standalone and/or PC based. Any suggestions?
