    BNC or HDMI

At the A/V source end, you connect the HDMI IR CAT-5 Extender Sender unit to your HDMI source and its IR blaster to your devices IR eye using the supplied cables. At the remote end, your HDMI display connects to the HDMI IR Extender's Receiver unit. Two CAT-5 cables connect the Sender and the Receiver units to each other, allowing for up to 300 feet of A/V source extension. Power-cycle all equipment and you will experience remote HDTV extension with full IR control of your HDMI source. The run will be 50-60 ft.

    BNC or HDMI

So then am I ok using an HDMI ir extender for the video and remote control and then using a USB extender for mouse control in the other room? I can get a GEFEN HDMI IR CAT5 extender for around $150. Then get a USB extender for around less than $100. I guess that both will do what I am trying to do.

    BNC or HDMI

I understand the pictures better but is it worth the difference in price for just monitoring with analog cameras.
  4. Finally getting around to finish my project and need help. I just bought an LG M3204C monitor to put video in the bedroom. I can use an hdmi extender and a usb extender to have video and control, or direct bnc and usb extender. My question is which would be better? I understand that the hdmi is a better quality picture, but will I notice a difference? All we will do is monitor from that room. The run will be around 50-60 ft. The dvr is a Ganz DR16HD. I am looking at a Gefen hdmi cat5 extender with ir and a Gefen usb 1 extender. This way I still can control the dvr remotely. If anyony has a better suggestion I am interested.

Camera difference in D/N to TDN

Camera difference in D/N to TDN

So, what visual difference will i notice? Would I notice a picture quality difference or anything else? Has anyone used the ganz camera model with success or problems? Any pictures to share?
  9. What is the visual difference between a day night camera and a true day night camera? I am currently using CNB VCM 24 VF's and am happy with them. I need another camera to watch another area that is around 250ft or less away. I found a GANZ ZC-D5550NXA camera but it is a day/night camera and not a TDN camera. Would I notice a picture quality difference or anything else? Has anyone used the ganz camera model with success or problems? Any pictures to share?

    GANZ D5550 NHAT domes available.

    Do you still have them?
  11. I would like to put a monitor in our bedroom to watch and control my system. I currently am using 12 of the 16 channels but will be adding on the rest shortly. Am I better using a VGA or HDMI KVM extender? The dvr is a computer ganz DR16HD and supports both formats. I am not sure which will work better( picture, control, etc). I have remote viewing ,but it is not the same as a direct connection. I will be using a 32" TV/monitor from Samsung. I would like to know if anyone can tell me which is better for this setup and if there are any brand recommendations for the KVM or monitor. The run will be 70-80 Ft so I will need some kind of an extender.

    DVR to HD TV Help

What is going to give me the best picture quality with the mouse control? Is there a certain company and model? How is installed? The budget is slim I just got laid off.
  13. I recently installed a Ganz DR16HD dvr with 12 cameras. After getting it connected to the internet I am not happy with the image quality verses going with a direct connection. My question is what is the best way to make my direct connection? My thoughts are to put a 20-30” HD TV in the bedroom so we can watch the cameras all the time. What I was thinking of using an HDMI connection. The DVR is in another location of the house, and I need to run the cable around 48+ ft to make the connection. I am not sure if this is going to be the best way or not. So I am looking for some suggestions on what would be the best way to make this run, or is there a better way of making the connection. I also would like to be able to control the DVR for that location and am not sure what I would need to be able to do this.

Looking for a good box camera and lens combo

Thanks for the responses so far, but ,y main point is getting lost. I need suggestions for a quality box camera lens set up. Any brand is alright as long as the picture will give me a high quality picture. I need some experienced suggestions with the camera recommendations, maybe even some pictures if you have them. Thanks
