  1. I just upgraded the Luxriot software I am using for two Arecont Vision cameras yesterday, what's this you're saying about unstable frame rates? It was on the client computers only, the framerates were all over the place from 2 to 15fps, i usually get a steady 19fps.
  2. 1. I can only assume it's because the video is of variable frame rate and that is the maximum frame rate Luxriot has set. 2. I tried it when i bought the cameras(earlier this year), and it looked quite crude. The reason i used Luxriot is because i bought it with the cameras.
  3. How much hard drive do you need to store all that data? I can't even imagine 9x 4mp cameras recording 16fps 24x7. You'd need like 5 terabytes per day. I have 6 cameras and 4TBs of storage, each camera is currently recording at 960x600@19fps and using about 30GBs per day.
  4. I'm using Luxriot v1.2.14, i had to drop back to that as there seems to be a problem with Arecont Vision cameras and v1.2.18. When i upgraded to that version i had very unstable framerates on the clients. The software is good but the motion detection isn't that great, i hope they use the motion detection on the Arecont Vision cameras, it might actually work properly.
  5. This is a short example video that I converted to Xvid. Nothing exciting, just a cleaner at work. Resolution is 1920x1200 and the frame rate is about 16fps. If the video plays back jerky then your computer is too slow. Also, this camera is not using a megapixel quality lens. Arecont Vision AV3100 video
  6. I had a problem with Luxriot and my AV cameras, Luxriot would crash all the time and damage the recordings so the software was basically useless, they have fixed this problem now and the fix will be available in v1.1.18. I have been using the fix for a few weeks and i am happy with Luxriot now. You can keep up to date with any improvements at http://blog.luxriot.com. I am recording 4 cameras at the moment at 960x600@19-20fps and the cameras are working fine. I'm still trying to find the right lens though, the one i want to buy isn't being made yet.
  7. If you want high quality, what about Lumenera cameras. The Le256(1920x1080@15fps) and Le11056(4008x2672@5fps), both use CCD sensors and SLR lenses.
  8. What were you expecting? Are you using them in low light? They are not very good for that. The videos on arecont vision's website look quite impressive but i've not managed to anything like that quality.
  9. There are some new Computar lenses available. HG2Z0414FC-MP 4-8mm megapixel C-Mount, the only problem is the AI cable is only 9cm long. Hopefully they will have a longer cable option. H0514-MP 5mm megapixel C-Mount.
  10. Well i was stating the obvious. I meant you really need megapixel lenses but there isn't a large choice of lenses available at the moment.
  11. I can't find a 4mm megapixel lens so i'm stuck with standard lenses for now.
  12. That was at high quality, i now use half resolution and motion detection. You really need megapixel lenses for these cameras to use the full resolution.

  14. Who knows. Playing back from the archive doesn't work properly, it will work a for bit then it will just display errors. It might be the amount of data it is storing that is the problem, i only have one camera recording at the moment and it is using over 150GB per day.
  15. I did get a response and i have the camera working ok on xprotect. We have bought LuxRiot so hopefully they will fix the problems with this software. This is a graph of the bandwidth usage for one camera, for anyone interested.
