  1. I need suggestions for a Mega pixel cam that will be installed in the same location that I took this picture from. It is approx. 200' to the street, and at the driveway the width is approx 30'. Camera will be about 30' in the air. License plate recognition would be nice if it doesn't break the bank I also would greatly appreciate a recommendation for a NVR or other solution that would allow remote viewing, recording etc... of the IP cam and at least 8 analog cams. There are several wall packs along the top of the building as seen in the Pic, so lighting is not bad, but it isn't great either. Thanks in advance!!!!!!!

    a little help

If I had to I would start at $700.00 and go up from there if I could show him the benefits. (Just for the camera)

    a little help

That's the problem, I can't get him to give me one. I was thinking it would cost at least $1000 to get a somewhat decent camera, wouldn't it????

    VCM-24VF Excessive noise

CNB contacted me this afternoon and said "they do not have any problems with that camera not switching to Night mode". I told them Ya right!!!!! I am going to contact DWG and see about an RMA and maybe a different camera. Here is a night pic using a 100W halogen in the far upper right hand corner. It wouldn't be that bad if it could accomplish that image with no extra light, like the Mintron.

Ding sound every second or 2... help!

I know, but I was being lazy and didn't want to explain how to disable the cameras.

No problem, I would just like to know why they are doing that.

I thought the Monalisa was made exclusively for CNB. I am almost positive I read that somewhere.

It has to be something with the Monalisa chip I would think. There doesn't seem to be anything else that is substantially different, unless we are missing something.

Well hell, I beats the crap out of me. I take it the pic is fine if you enlarge the camera?

Just throwing things out there. Are all of the cameras on the same PSU, DVR?? Do they share anything in common, like being located in the same general area, or are the runs possibly in the same conduit?

What are the other cameras you are using? What if any is the major difference between the CNB and the others?

I am going to try a new Mintron Dome camera that has similar specs to the one I am using. So far, for the price, I haven't found a better camera. 83SR10HN-VP-VF 83W7N-VF-VP

Try turning off the AGC. What are the other cameras you are using? What if any is the major difference between the CNB and the others?

    quality of dome security cameras

No, I don't have an IR illuminator available at this time. I am thinking of going with something similar to the Mintron camera. Why use a camera that has to switch to black and white, if you can get a superior picture in color at the same light levels?

Has anyone tried this camera from Samsung? SKU: SCC-931T * 1/4 Inch IT Super HAD CCD * 480TV Lines Resolution * Minimum Scene Illumination: 0.005 Lux @ 15IRE, Sens-Up x128 (F1.6) * 12X Motorized Optical Zoom with 10X Digital Zoom * DSP (Digital Signal Processing) * On Screen Display (OSD) * Motion Detection * IP66 Rated * RS485 Remote Control * 12VDC/AC24V (60Hz) * Built-In Ground Fault Isolation Transformer SCC-931T is an anti-vandal color dome camera that ensures outstanding observation with excellent color sensitivity and high resolution. The combination of superior imaging and anti-vandal housing assembly make the SCC-931T a perfect solution to areas that require additional protection. Remote control and programming is accomplished via RS-485 communication (half duplex), which allows all cameras in the high impact series to be remotely controlled. https://www.dwgsecurity.com/reference/Manufacturers/Samsung/SCC-931T.pdf

    quality of dome security cameras

I would, but from what I have seen Rory post and a couple of other pics, it seems to be the norm. If you supplement the light they are OK, but IMO they are not as good as everyone has made them out to be. The price on them is fairly cheap, especially if you buy them at cost. What do you expect for a $130.00 or so cam???? I guess I was just hoping for something better. You get what you pay for!!! I am thinking of contacting CNB and send them the screen shots, and ask them what the deal is with the cam not switching to BW mode in low light situations. I mean what good is it if it has to be totally dark before it will switch? You can not see color or BW in that situation. I wonder if they could send me a new firmware to flash it with and change the sensitivity?

    quality of dome security cameras

Personally I would look to get a different dome. IMO they are horrible in low light situations. If you have enough light they are ok, but if you do not they WILL NOT switch to BW mode, hence the first pic. The second pic is decent, but I had to manually switch it to BW and that means no color during the day. Kind of defeats the point of buying a color camera
