It is probably hardware related. Have you checked the caps on the motherboard, and video card? Make sure the north bridge fan is turning (if you have one) and that the heat sink is attached correctly. If you have one of the boards where they used the little U hook soldered into the board, they have a tendency of falling out. What are your temps for your CPU PLL etc...

I have been using Makita 18v tools and have been very happy.X2 the new Lithium Ion!!

If your lighting is almost complete darkness then the VCM-24VF probably would not be a great camera, even though it does have a decent Lux rating. Your going to have to either add external lighting, IR illuminators, or IR cameras.

The Everfocus cameras are $100 more for me to buy.

OK thanks.

What version are you running? Can you try and log on to their site and see if it works for you? I do not want to upgrade my software to 8.4 unless the android app works.
-
I am curious also. The specs do look very close on paper, but I would like to see some comparison pics if someone has them.

My home system is running 8.01 on a AMD K-7 @ 1.83 Ghz. It is only a GV 600-8, but running 6 cameras at max resolution Geo MPEG4 CPU usage is 20%. I am afraid to load 8.4, and the only reason I wouyld is for the Android App, but I can't get that to work anyway, so I am just going to leave it alone.

for 8.4 make sure you have a quad core. There it is. That's where I understood it from.
-
The way I understand it is the 8.4 is even worse of a resource hog than 8.3. So be aware especially if your PC is not at least a dual core 6600.

I have been buying from a dealer in the states, PM me, they are not giving me the best prices, but since I don't buy a lot I haven't pushed it.

Where are you located? I might be able to help you with the Dahua.

You need to have the lights behind the cameras. Just like if you were to take a picture with a regular SLR camera, you always try to have the light at your back. Since you are using flood lamps, you can get away with the camera fairly close if not next to the floods, you just do not want the light from the lamps shining into or on the lens.

You mean there are other CCTV forums?????????

I have the same problem when trying to connect to your site.

its funny you should recommend the 7 inch Haier, i was looking also at this model:plus you can buy this hood, should help see better in the sun:
i figured i could duct tape a coat hanger type thing around the TV and hang it off the rain gutter...
at least i am on the same page, i was worried that someone would recommend some crazy 800.00 unit...
That is the one that I was going to recommend. rechargeable battery built in and for $50.00 can't go wrong.

You can post the link from the manufacturer, or from one of the supporting vendors listed on the left, or copy and paste the specs or......

During the six-day trial, trial, jurors learned that Cornerstone — in applying for affordable housing tax credits from the state — had agreed to provide a gated community with card-access entry. But apartment managers left a pedestrian gate unlocked during the day when Davis got in, and security guards only worked at night. "There was nobody whose job it was to monitor safety during the day," Lipsky said.
Also, the gates were easily scaled. And residents were not notified of crimes on the property, as the company had spelled out in its internal policies. "The manager testified that she didn't know she had to do that because she had never read the company's manual," Lipsky said.

My 8 channel Geo system is rock solid, but I have a few in the field that are plagued with problems. It is the PC side of it, not the card. Just can't always get a 100% reliable hardware platform. They were all built using the same components and 95% were fine, it's just that 5% that SUCK!!!!

I use the cheap DVRs now and they never lock up or crash .. less headachesSo far so good on them for me also.

That's the Win 7 networking nightmare at work.

No BLC or WDR seems to be a deal breaker for me lately.

Just purchase the same board you were using from here [edit by mod-store link removed]The Egg is a great place to buy all of your PC componets from. Actually the ONLY place!!!!
Except they sell cctv equipment now so cant link to them
Also need a US credit card and US address to buy from them (in our case)
I noticed that last night. They really don't have anything worth a crap, except some cheap enclosures, but who doesn't.
Rory, if you had those, would it still be worth it for you to buy from them even after paying shipping and all of the other fees?

The red and black wire is for the power, more than likely 12v DC. You don't need to replace the cable, just splice it to a 12v DC power supply.
