Anyone try these? I see Mateusz (Korgoth) has some sample footage of the E31 showing its WDR capabilities...looks pretty good...the E32-33 have a wider field of view. Curious also about the cheaper D31 and D32. They seem to have a single IR illuminator instead of IR led arrangement around the lense. I'm surprised there's not more buzz about these cameras on the forums as they seem priced to compete with dahua. Affordable bullet cam with great NVR software..seems like a no brainer to me...? Is anyone here running these cams? Am i missing something?

For those curious...I've had a cheap pocket style 720p camcorder hooked up by a long usb cord and staring out my kitchen window for 1.5 years now. I use it with freeware contacam for motion detection. I've caught the neighbours daughters' boyfriend stealing parts off my truck when i was out with the wife and kids one afternoon. The cop was impressed with the quality of the video (only vga 640x480 but digital) and he even showed his fellow officers back at the station. He kept asking me if it was cheap to set something like that up. Said that camera quality blew away the police station cameras. I guess he's never seen megapixel camera footage lol. Planning on getting an Acti setup this summer with infrared illuminators. Special thanks to Buellwinkle for his reviews..very helpful.

Have you confirmed that the IR leds are working? You have lighting in the distance which is obvious to the camera...It looks as if the leds aren't casting any light from the camera. Maybe try using the foscams led lighting and shine it around the yard to see the E31's cameras sensitivity to it?

Can you tell us what kind of bug it is they're working on? Does is it plague that whole series of cameras or just the E33? And the E44...might that be the bullet with the same sensor as the KCM5611? Looking forward to your review..thanks!

Wow...that 14 dollar megapixel lens looks good. I wonder if a 6mm lens from the same manufacturer would be an upgrade to the stock 6mm. Thanks for posting the pictures!

Did you prefer Linovision NVR+ software over the Dahua NVR for use with dahua cameras?

ssuro11 would you have any samples of the 3.6mm lense in night mode with the IR on? as compared to the 6mm?

Nice comparison. That 3.6mm lense seems to be a much better fit than one of the dx lenses sampled previously. How do you like the Qsee NVR?

Thanks very much for the video samples. Very helpful. Does the e31 give you the same options as the tcm-1111 for setting different day and night motion settings in "events"? Also I see the e31 allows you to configure the day/night switching..is that a sensor sensitivity adjustment or to let you manually set times when you want it to switch over.....or both?

I'm curious about the price of the Avigilon software. I know it can't be posted but would it be possible to get a pm? My wife uses the Avigilon NVR at work and loves it. Their list of supported cameras seems good. My location is near ottawa canada.

What kind of NVR software comes with the samsung?

Have any of you guys running the qsee nvr and camera combo experienced dropped frames or flickering at all in your footage? or any other issues with that setup?

Does anyone know if an Intel Core 2 duo setup would be enough to handle 6-8 1.3MP acti cams with their NVR 3.0 software?

I noticed on the acti nvr 3.0 datasheet on acti's website, it states the system requirement for 1-16 cameras is an intel core 2 quad 2.4Ghz with 4 Gigs of ram so maybe that's why it doesn't work on your older computer.

Just curious as to what the desktop processor was that you first tried and it didn't work?

I still have yet to purchase some bullets and will be doing so in a months time. I'm torn between the Acti 1111's and Dahua/Qsee Costco kits. It's hard to beat the costco kit with supplied wire and plug and play setup but I like the broad range of styles and options on the Acti's and great things i hear about their NVR software. I've seen a fair share of samples from the dahua cams. There's only 4 videos on youtube to showcase the 1111's. Is anyone willing to post up some day and night images captured with the 1111? or send me a link with images from that bullet? It doesn't seem to have as strong an IR light from the leds as the dahua. Thanks Lads

Thanks, yes i've seen that clip posted by a member here. There's alot of white light there. I'm looking for a clip in total darkness with just the IR. To me the acti looks like a better image.

For those of you familiar with both the dahua hardware nvr and acti nvr-software 3.0. Which would you say is easier to use in finding footage or just reviewing a days worth of footage, say fast forwarding through it all? Which is better in terms of options? ease of use? speed? ability to save footage?

Is the Avigilon software CPU intense similar to the way Blue Iris is when multiple cameras are involved? Does it analyze the stream or does it leave it up to the camera like the Acti cameras/software combo where the cameras analyze the stream and send the resulting footage to your computer? I'm looking at an 6-8 camera setup, 1.3-2MP.

The video review feature is important to me as i will want to review video pretty much everyday on at least my driveway camera. I like the fact that the acti software also gives you the option of different sensitivities for 3 detection zones. My wife works campus security at the local college here and she was telling me about the new system they just had installed. From the pictures she took it looks to be an Avigilon NVR with a bank of encoders to convert their existing analog cameras to ip. They're getting new cameras in the future. She loves how easy it is to review footage and save clips of footage-and she's not very computer savvy so it must be real user friendly haha. It would be interesting to see a review of the Avigilon VMS. I'm curious as well.

Yeah i noticed that on the dahua site (IPC-HFW2100). I wonder if i could wrap the camera in heat trace cable. Hmmm. Hey Buellwinkle, the software that you used first in the dahua cam review, I'm assuming is free NVR software provided by dahua?

Anyone know what the QCN7001B 720p camera is rated for temperature wise? It doesn't mention it in the specs on the q-see site. Should cold weather be a concern?

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and have read through many posts and it's a great source of info. I'm looking for advice on choosing between the Acti TCM models 4201 (cube) 5111 (box) and 1111 (bullet). I've been looking around and i like the specs of these three acti cameras (and price). I like the idea of a cube for pointing out my front kitchen window as it's stealth in that position. I wonder if the quality of a 5111 would be better and i like the idea that i can move it outside with a housing at any point. I'd go with the 1111 bullet cam with built in IR leds but with the canadian winters up here (ontario) i'm afraid its -20C / -4F rating wouldn't be enough to avoid freezing up. I'd use external illuminators and motion floods to help all 3 with night vision. The specs are similar with these cameras but i'm wondering if the quality varies greatly or if the image would be the same between all of them considering the specs, just the wrapper being different. Any input would be appreciated in helping me decide or think about things i might've overlooked. Thanks folks! Tony

I love these forums. I was actually thinking about the vivotek 8332 a while back until i discovered these forums and read about the issues people were having with them. I noticed that the maple tree in my yard casts shadows on the street and slowly creeps toward the house during the day with the position of the sun. I'm glad to hear the 1111 acts more like a WDR featured camera than the 8332. In night mode Razer, did you have to manually set your exposure settings just once for the night profile so that it uses those settings whenever it switches to night vision mode or do you have to do that and adjust the settings every night manually?
