  1. Hikvision DS-7608 8 channel poe. I have had this for about two years and have had no trouble. I could connect remotely and view/playback. Recently I have been having trouble connecting, locally and remotely. Yesterday I could not connect at all. I shut it down manually and upon boot I could connect and view cameras. The HD light was flashing when it was working. The red light stopped and the connection to the cameras just stopped. I did a couple of restarts and experience the same thing, just after boot it worked for a couple minutes. Occasionally it will let me login, usually it times out. When I do get in the cameras time out and can't be viewed. The HD shows as full, is this normal. I know it keeps writing over but it shows 0% available. I did a format today when I was able to connect but that did not solve the problem. I am thinking HD starting to go but it does not make total sense. Any thoughts?
  2. Hi, thanks for reading. I have a Hik NVR that I HAVE been able to remotely connect to, using my previous router. I use a dyn address and port forwarded 80,554 and 8000 to the NVR static address. I just bought a new linksys 1900 router and can not get remote connection working. I can login remotely and view settings and recorded footage. Just no live view. Locally I can see live footage, settings etc. No issues. I can confirm using various sites that 80, 554 and 8000 are open. I don't remember opening 8200 on my old device but do so on some literature that this is required. I am unable to open this port though, when I do on the router sites like canuseeme say that 8200 is not open. The previous router was a dlink. My new linksys has settings that I am not used to like filter multicast, filter anonymous internet requests, filter internet nat redirection and filter ident. I would appreciate any thoughts. As a test I changed the port from 8000 to 7200 in the NVR settings. I then opened 7200 and 7400. Same result, I can see the NVR but no live view. 7400 appears as closed even though I opened it in the router. I thought I recalled that whatever the port you will view on, you also need the one 200 higher?? Thanks!!

    Installer needed in Toronto

Hello, Not sure where this should be posted - I am not allowed to post in the classified section yet. I am looking for someone to install 4-5 cameras at a house in Toronto. I have looked and read a lot and think I know what I want. I would be interested in running the equipment by someone with experience. I then need a professional, clean install. Please get in touch if you are in the area and interested. Thanks
