What about PoE if I use the maximum ? Thanks !
  3. Hi , I want to split one channel (DVR & on an external monitor). Do I really need a spliter amp box or I can use only a Y . Will it affect the signal or impedance ? Do I need 75 ohm load ? Thanks !
  4. Is a 50 ohms T ok instead of a 75 ?
  5. Hi , I need a Hybrid DVR 32 channels but 20 Analog & 12 IP. I saw only 16/16. Thanks
  6. DVR is a WatchNet E-96032RTSH No IP cams yet , only wiring done. What do you suggest as hardware ?
  7. Hi , Having an installation already in place with 24 analog cams. The DVR is a 32 channels but does not support IP. We want to add 8 IP cams to it (CAT5 wire already there). Is it possible ? Is there any IP to ANALOG module that exists ? Thanks !
  8. Hi , I have 8 analog Cams connected to 12 VDC (power dist panel) and using RG59 (~600 feet with a union/junction). Image is poor , lines at the bottom of the screen , etc... What can be the cause of this ? -Should I use 24VAC ? -Ground problem ? -Need to boost signal ? -Termination at DVR ? Please help ... I have access to an oscilloscope. Thanks.
  9. Fixed now ! I used some ground loop isolators and OK now. Thanks !
  10. Hi , I'm having a PTZ cam that I can control but after a few seconds, goes back to original place. This CAM is connected to a DVR but problem is not the DVR. I have a PTZ/Video tester that I connected the RS485 on it and samething. So problem is with the CAM. Was OK for many years but got a power shutdown and after we got this problem. Is there any "parking" setting or anything that I can modify for this or it's really the CAM that is defective ? How can I go in the CAM settings ? Someone told me to go preset 95 but how ? (see pic attached). Thanks.
  11. OK now , just did a power reset ! Sometimes , it's toooooo easy

    12VDC or 24VAC ?

Having 4 Speco Intensifier CAM connected to 12VDC . Since a few weeks , image is rolling or getting lines on the screen (video signal doesn't sync good). This is on all Speco Intensifier Bullet cams. Having a power dist box (12V) with other cams connected to it (dome) and they are OK. I change the power dist box just to make sure problem is not coming from it and samething. Question: Do you think by connecting them to 24VAC would improve the signal ?

    12VDC or 24VAC ?

OK , fixed the problem by adding a ground loop isolator to the CAM that had lines. Stange , it was OK for more than a year without this. Thanks !
  14. Hi , On a router (DLINK DIR-825) , I have 2 menus for port forwarding : -Virtual Server -Port Forwarding Which one to use ? I was alwasy using Port Forwarding but I can see that some people are using Virtual Server. Also , WEB port is usually 80 or 8080 ? Thanks !
  15. Thanks Don ! Great info ! But my concern here is do we usually use Virtual Server or Port Forwarding ? I usually use Port Forwarding but many people are using Virtual Server .
  16. Hi , I need to replace DW-655 cameras from Ameba technology that are deffective. It's going on a very dark area and the DW-655 had 36 IR LEds and some were very big. Is the WatchNet XDDIII-BILR a good replacement for dark area ? Tks
  17. Ok thanks but i Never use presets , we were controlling this Ptz manually
  18. Hi , Having a IDVR that has a static IP and port 8080 open. I can log in with a PC that is not part of the local network but I cannot get into it with Iphone App with the same settings. A strange think is i was able to get into with another Iphone but I tried on a few more without success. Any idea ? Do I have to open another port for Iphone ? Why works on one and not on the other one ? Thanks for your help !
  19. The 8 cams on that building have a 12VDC power distribution alone just for them. I changed it and samething. Now way for black and white
  20. Yes I did that. Samething.
  21. Just to give you more info , I have 32 cams connected to the DVR. I have problems only with 6-7 cams that are in an other building. Can it be a parasite signal that goes on the 12VDC line ? My next step was to connect a signal generator at the place of one cam and see the output at the DVR side with a oscilloscope. I don't know if I connect them with 24VAC it it will be better. Is a Loop Isolation Transformer - GIT100 would help ?
  22. I have a video CCTV tester ST-895 , seem's to be OK on this. Any idea ?
  23. Hi , I have a system with 16 cams analog (non varifocal) connected to a SPECO 16TH DVR. On the 16 cams , I have 3 FLIR 900 lines resolution and 13 low cost bullets cams. They are both IR cams. I set both to best quality settings (FPS , 720*480 resolution , H264 format , 120 PPS). I cannot see the difference on the image quality between the 900L and others.Only on the night vision , it's much better. What can I change to improve the quality ? Thanks.

    12VDC or 24VAC ?

Hi , Here are some infos: -I use a Altronix SAV9D as power distribution (12VDC) -I tried to increase the voltage to 12.5 volts , samething -Problematic cams are SPECO HTINTB8 -cable is RG59 with BNC compression connectors -There is a junction with an union -~800 feet long Was there for 2 years without any problem. Can it be termination (75 ohm) setting on DVR . Having a video tester ST893 , and signal seems to be OK on it. When connected to the DVR or LCD monitor , not good. See pic attached. You can see the lines at the bottom
  25. Hi, I want to split a DVR BNC output to 3 monitors. I have a Kramer VP-123 (RGBHV) splitter that I use only the R input to split the composite signal. Works but is it OK to use it that way ? Tks
