    DVR PC SOFTWARE

Try Blur Iris, it has a trial version. To buy, it is about 60 bucks. Ther is also a free version of Milestone, up to 8 cameras I believe. When I tried it, it did leave a watermark on the recorded videos, but that was a few years ago.
  2. Did you forward the correct ports? Or your router may prevent loopback connections.

    IR Leakage to Lens

Another option would be a turret/eyeball style camera. It won't have the dome problems or the bullet camera spider problem. Or you could leave the camera in day mode all the time and use the 2200 lumen motion light. The delay might not be as bad, but you might not see much until the light come on.

"Invisible" IR camera behind a window?

Yes, it will reflect back and blind the camera. One option would be turn off ir lighting on camera and mounting a separate ir light outside. Or possibly a seperate ir light inside shining out through the window would work.

"Invisible" IR camera behind a window?

The 940nm light will reflect back too, you just won't see the red glow.

    IR Leakage to Lens

Would it be possible to disable IR totally on the camera and use an external IR light? Something like this one, so you can adjust the beam. http://www.ebay.com/itm/111722615701?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&rmvSB=true
  7. Download Firefox Extended Support Release in your language, this fixed it for me. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

IP Camera Viewer Pro on Roku

Is the app IP Camera Viewer Pro by Robert Chou? It has an option for Panasonic BL series. I have BL c131 that works with pan and tilt. The pic you posted looks like the Axis option.

How to view lorex NVR on tv

I use Blue Iris to run my cameras. I can use my browser on my LG smart tv to view the cameras without any other hardware.
  10. Your Chinese cameras might not work with that NVR. Usually firmware upgrades can be a good thing, adding features/security, not so with Hikvision. Google a search term like Hikvision firmware problems.

    IP Camera Advice

A turret is less likely to have spider/bug problems. it gets annoying going out almost every night with a long handled brush to wipe spider webs away. You can get a camera with an sd card for recording motion detection events.
  13. A bit late, but you need a poe switch like tommy posted.
  14. Look into Dahua Starlight cameras. They have the best affordable night vision.
  15. Make an easy to remember but harder to crack password using a phrase like "MySonNeedsDisciplne".
  16. Be aware that buying from online sites like alixpress etc you may not get much of a warranty, or shipping back to China, for instance, could be expensive And don't update the firmware unless you know what you are doing. When you setup the camera the first time, you will be directed to set a password, choose a good one and you should be safe. If your son can get his hands physically on the camera, he could reset it to default (new), but then you would be locked out when you tried to view or access the camera.
  17. I would say IR light reflecting off the structure (wall?) on the right side.
  18. Do a google search for Hikvision cube. The DS-2CD2432F-IW has on board sd card storage etc. Be aware that looking through a glass window with IR on will reflect back and blind the camera. If you do order one, make sure the power supply comes with it if you do not use poe/power over ethernet.

    HOSAFE 13MB6 HD IP Camera

look for Onvif device manager 2.2.250, install it and see if it can see the camera.
  20. You could try here http://www.dahuawiki.com/USA/IPCamera/ But the best place to get it is the dealer you bought the camera from.
  21. I would try SmartPss and OnVif device manager2.2.250 to see if they can see the camera. The cable may be bad, try testing with a new cable.

    Camera System Upgrades

Mrpink, my opinion is more zoom plus more light wouldn't hurt either. There are several threads around about how many pixels per ft/meter for identifying faces around but I found this. http://vteb.gov.lv/uploads/files/cctv_requirements_final.pdf
  23. The big problem with Hikvision is that cameras meant for the Chinese market were being sold to the rest of the world with hacked firmware to change the language. When firmware was upgraded, it would brick the camera. Doing a google search for hikivision firmware problems will give you more info. Buying from legit dealers prevents that problem. I took the chance when I bought mine.
