  1. I can't say specifics as I've never used ivms but did you set up a recording schedule.

    Single IP Camera with NVR

I agree with the others that if you only want one camera, it may be a good choice to save the money on the nvr but if you must have a single camera and an nvr and you want to keep it under $750, you can go with a Hikvision DS-7604NI-SE/P which has 4 poe ports and 1TB HDD for under $350 and a DS-2cd2632f-I for under $300. This is a 3MP camera and is varifocal which will give you a little more flexability on where to mount it.

    Is this Legit?

80mA seems low but if they so. Try it with that power supply. Worst case, it won't work. Using a 1A or greater would be reccomended though.
  4. Seems like it should work. Best tging to do is give it a test. If you'd rather not cut the balun's cable to test, you can pick up a cheap adaptor at radio shack with a female rca and hack that. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12475707
  5. On many cameras, it doesn't what the polarity is on dc power in.
  6. Thanks That's good to know. I've used only two different fisheyes. I've used Geovision which work pretty well as far as panning and presets go using their software but I haven't tried them with another vms. I've also just recently used vivotek fisheyes with the VMS we use on jobs and found them not user friendly. But I haven't messed with them too much. I haven't used any Axis cameras yet but it seems to me, they are the superior brand in most ways. What VMS are you using the fisheye with.

    Installation using CAT5

He's not using it for ip cameras. He's running cat5 with baluns for analog cameras.

    HELP WITH NIGHT VISION QUALITY

Also, are these cameras wdr because if your settings on that are too high, it can introduce noise in the night time shots
  9. Utp is unshielded twisted pair in America. (Stp is shielded) But I see from a quick google search that the term universal twisted pair comes up a good number of times. Is that the European term?
  10. Just remember when purchasing that DVR that it doesn't come with a hard drive at the initial price. You just have to add it in when buying.
  11. I'd say the best solution is getter a dvr that better suits your needs One other possible solution may be to use an old pc with a dvr capture card, use BNC splitters so your cameras will go to both the dvr and the PC. Use the dvr for recording and the PC for better motion triggering.
  12. POE would use those pairs as well Only passive Poe would. So don't use a passive injector. Use a Poe switch
  13. You couldn't find one? There are a whole bunch of rc websites. Here's one with cameras http://www.nitrorcx.com/fpv.html Also robot shops have a lot of that.
  14. True, $77 is not exactly a fortune But I'm just not sure what a normal budget is for rc tank wifi cameras nowadays

    Installation using CAT5

Another alternative is to keep the baluns in the power supply if there's rokm and then run coax patches from there. With this setup, you'd either have to make up your own coax patches using female bnc connectors at the balun end or you'd have to use barrel bnc couplers.
  16. There's also the raspberry pi with camera attachment

    Noisey CnM secure box

It's worth a clean out. Probably has a lot if dust build up
  18. Are you using cameras with mic inputs or are you running mics back to nvr for a different application? If you're running them back through spare pairs on the cat6 then on the cat6, you can use the blue,blue/white and brown, brown/white This is as long as you are not using gigabit LAN.

    Installation using CAT5

I get what you're saying, because you're using one pair in each cat 5 for video and then the remaining pairs for power, right? It's unfortunately not always neat and you'll need to figure out how to clean it up. but you can first bring the cat5 cables to the rear of the dvr and have your baluns terminate there and then some kind of patch cable from there to the power supply for each camera. Personally for the patch cables I would use something like 18 gauge, one pair per camera. Then just splice the the power patch cables to the cat 5 power cables using some sort of crimp connector.
  20. Hard to say without seeing the problem but maybe the connections are bad or you're getting reflection back from the ir LEDs.
  21. It actually looks like a cool camera. The built in wiper is nice. But that's not an ip or megapixel camera. It's a 530tvl analog, though it is available in HD-sdi which would require a special dvr.
  22. How about something like this. Though its not cheap. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2N51E68884&cm_re=wireless_webcam-_-9SIA2N51E68884-_-Product
  23. Make sure it's set right. There may be two places to set it. Such as you may have to enable it under each cameras setup but also in the schedule.
  24. First off I'll admit I'm no cloud expert but it would make sense to me that going the cloud route would be slower as you are going through a service rather than right to your dvr as is with ddns I did a quick look into the cloud setup and it seems there is some bandwidth throttling that can be set to account for different Internet connections. Is it possible tour settings are not correct there?
  25. I'm sure there are cheaper DVRs that can do it. Hopefully someone here can recommend one. It's best to check with the seller first just beware that many sellers are not honest and may tell you what you want to hear.
