  4. My dvr is working alrite locally and remotely till yesterday when it stopped connecting remotely, so what i did to troubleshoot 1. I checked the cable connection from router to dvr. (ok) 2. I rebooted the dvr. 3.i checked the internet connection locally and at location where dvr is placed. (ok) Please give advice as what else can i do to rectify the problem,give as many suggestions you can. Thank You

Hello all, i want to know that if my dvr and router are distant apart within the same building than what would be the best option to connect them,the distance is approx.250 feet,please advice various options.i suppose that there is a cable length limitation to keep in mind also so what to do in that case?thank you.

Hello All, My question is that i have deployed an analogue cctv system of 8 cameras,the output near the dvr is a monitor which will obviously get its input through dvr vga port,we also have another output in seperate room which is an LG TV.I just want to know that would it be possible and workable to terminate the coax cable from dvr output to the wall plate and then get the other coax lead between wall plate outlet to the tv input.Thank You

    Thank you for the reply,please advice,if i have an rg6 cable to connect the wall plate to tv with both sides having rg6 bnc connectors,can i use bnc to rca connector at the tv end to utilize the rca port on tv.Thank you

    Back Using NAS

    My client has a deployment of 16 Analog cameras on two seperate 8 channel DVR now he wants to have a backup of video images from all cameras on a seperate floor,Is it possible to have a NAS hooked to the dvrs for backup,If yes what different type of ports are acceptable on the dvr,please also give suggestion what other option he can have for backup under the current scenarions.Thank You

    Yes, I am covered as far as the state law is concerned.OK so is it possible to grab a microphone and hook it straight into the dvr audio-in because i don't want to spend money on a new analog camera that has built in audio feature..Thanks

I have deployed 7 cameras on 1 dvr they are hooked via coax cable with the dvr,we want to split the feed of 4 cameras attached to older dvr to new dvr but we also want to do that over cat5 rather than coax.please tell if this architecture will work and also explain how we will lay this network.Thank You

    Video Splitting on 2nd DVR

    Hello Guys, I have a query regarding cctv system design.let me first tell you the scenario.There is a retail shop which has 8 cctv cameras (analog) hooked to a dvr, Now the owner wants to split 4 cameras feed to another dvr for replication,this is needed if there is an intrusion and the primary dvr is taken away.please give your expert opinion on the best architecture to be followed.We are thinking of using a video spilitter to the other dvr.Is there any other efficient option. what type of dvr should be used mpeg4 or h.264? The user also want remote viewing feature? Please give your valuable comments.Thank You

  23. Thank You for your reply mindtwist,I would appreciate if you could further explain me connectivity of 4X2 video distributor with some kind of diagram. What i have understood from your reply is that i need 4 (quantity) 4x2 video distributors right?? please explain me only one camera connectivity as an example i.e if i want that single camera feed to goto 2 different dvr assuming i dont have a loop out on dvr. Thank You
