  1. Hello, I want to put a 2nd view to downstairs with a already premade cat5e wire, what is the best way to do this? any advice? All i got left is a VGA port on the Reolink NVR but the 2nd tv only have a HDMI port. I want to use the prewired cat5e wire too.

  3. Hello guys, I have a Hikvision DS-7116HGHI-F1 and i need to replace my HDD. I was looking at the HDD compatibility list : https://www.hikvision.com/en/Support/Notice/Technical-Bulletins/305934334921709 According to their compatibility list, I can use western digital purple drive WD40PURX There is a newer western digital purple drive model: WD40PURZ Any issues using the newer model WD40PURZ? or should I go with the older model.

  5. I am just using 1-3 feet for each camera to wire to reach in a centralized power box. I am not worried about voltage drop, I was just wondering if it is safe to use the thermostat wire? voltage? according to the centralized power box, each channel is getting 2amp per channel.
  6. Hello, I am installing a 12v DC 18ch 40amp distribution box to power up all my IR array cameras and want to know some more information regarding 40 amps. I am guessing 40 amps in the cctv distribution box is different when compared with house electrical? because this is going to be plugged in a 20 amp circuit breaker. Also will be using a 14 gauge power cord for this box, would that be suffice?
  7. Hello, Just bought a Dahua DHI-XVR5216AN-S2 and used my old 3tb hdd (WD30PURX) and it only detects 1397.13G it shows. The DVR claims: Internal HDD 2 SATA Port, up to 8TB capacity. http://www1.dahuasecurity.com/asset/upl ... 171024.pdf I tried formatting in the dvr but still the same. Was using the hdd from a different brand dvr before. Any advice?

  9. Use a spade bit from the outside going in, find a spade bit size hole that would fit all of your cables ( rem the heads are bigger than the cable). Also since the cables are coming out from that low, will you be using conduit pipe?

    save your time and headache, dont use them. I would just go with some cat5e and baluns.

  16. dont use those cheap pre-made cables, i usually use cat5e wires with video and power balun.
  17. good day ..thanks for response to my problem...my power is near at the cam..70mtrs. distance I had this problem before, best way to find out is get a power source close up to your camera that having issue and check if night vision works ( you can dismount the camera and take it inside to make sure it is not your camera). If it is working, you got amperage drop from your line. 70 meters is pretty long depending on the gauge wire you use for power. Especially if you are using IR ARRAY leds.
  18. Hey I got a building that wants interior cameras/ 2 cameras in each floor and would like some tips or ideas of wiring. Everything is concrete and owner doesn't really want much holes. I know wifi would be a bad idea, what bout POE? trying to figure out how to get internet access to each floor.
  19. I got a 8 channel ahd system and 4 cameras 3 the same bullet style camera and 1 dome. The 3 bullet style camera is AHD and the 1 dome is regular analog 800 tvl. I tested all wires and camera working individually. Finally connected all 4 and it seems like for example if i connect channel 4 it won't work unless i unplug channel 3. So my current setup is channel 1,2,3, and 5 is being used. anyway i can fix this? all power supplies is separate.
  20. Hey I am looking for a Power Video Balun converted from rj45 plug that utilizes 1 twisted pair for video and the other 3 twisted pairs for power. I usually only find baluns that only utilizes 2 pair for power only.
  21. Does anyone know if AHD system is compatible to use old analog cameras? I am getting a AHD DVR and was wondering if i can just swap my old analog DVR and use my pre-existing cameras and wires. I got 700tvl cameras and cat5e wiring with video baluns connectors. Am i going to get into any problems? thanks.

    AHD DVR with 700tvl cameras?

    planning to get a AHD DVR and was wondering if i can still use analog cameras (420-700tvl) or do i need to specifically find AHD cameras? Also is it acceptable to use cat5e bare copper/solid strand with balum video connectors in the AHD DVR? Thanks.
  24. planning to buy a hanbang dvr and it shows: preview resolution: FD1: PAL(704×576), NTSC(704×480) 960H: PAL(928×576), NTSC(928×480) VGA/HDMI:1920*1080 recording resolution: 16ch FD1/CIF/960H/Q960H is D1 suppose to be FD1? or is it CIF?
