Another question when using the Panasonic, Samsung, Sanyo
Lolo Wolf replied to CSCOUT2001's topic in Security Cameras
Sanyo PTZ http://www.us.sanyo.com/industrial/security/cameras/ptz_domes/index.cfm?productID=1487 -
"unlimited budget"....look at Extreme solutions (Extreme CCTV) look at their long distance products perhaps multiple IR units combined with a quality PTZ for flooded and spot IR coverage.... (My home use is panasonic combined with Extreme IR UF500s and static cams for my property view... 45acre mountain and pasture mostly monitor critters and rare moments of trespass caught a party jackin a elk 2years ago) Extreme has excellent support and Panasonic make good reliable products. 200acre, you may want to advise your client on secondary cams in conjuction with a primary PTZ mounted on house... dedicated dvr/ip setups lot of members/dealers on this site have info on the latest technology.... if you choose to go the ip/megapix cam route... as far as IR I highly suggest Extreme products.

Extreme dust conditions video camera application
Lolo Wolf replied to angela.lopez's topic in Security Cameras
Your search for a industrial rated cam with "self cleaning lens" I think you may be relating to the Hydrophilic self cleaning glass technology.....perhaps this link may help http://www.gotowti.com/HydrophilicGlass.htm I dont know where you are located but there are many safety codes and standards for use of electronic devices (inc cctv cameras and like devices) within coal facilities mines etc. due to the explosive danger of coal dust, I noted that you stated outdoor port... but standards do exist. Perhaps take a look at WTI (Sidewinder) http://www.gotowti.com/Products_Sidewinder.htm You may want to investigate Industrial grade cctv speciality gear for your application. There are many sources of speciality gear through transportation/construction/mining technology and trade resource publications online. -

Interesting concept....I regret years ago being out of country and missing a loved ones funeral....and also a wedding in the family, got to see it later on video but not the same as seeing it live. I think you have a good idea there....

Explosion proof camera/housing for paint booth
Lolo Wolf replied to tyman00's topic in Security Cameras
Are you thinking of installing the cam within the booth itself, Is this a industrial application? If so You might be better off viewing cam through a sight glass or approved view window. There are several national fire codes: NFPA 33, 86, 91 and 101; NFC and CFR Other codes also apply, such as NEC and NBC as well, local code requirements when it envolves paint booth enviorments. Be careful and safe and remember any install that is unsafe can effect your insurance and liabilty as well as endager lives. -
Curious, what was your powersource? Did you bench the unit or install in the auto?
-
According to the specs for your unit it states that the power should be direct to vehicle batt and also that the unit should be turned on/off through the unit as needed to avoid batt drain when motor is off, the reason I suggested the switch was as a added safety. If you wanna energize the unit through your ignition or a fused acc. then ok .....often there are reasons for specs on sensitive electrical gear.
-
I think you are better off hardwire to the batt with a non illuminated quality switch and protect it with a fuse. Turn the unit on/off with the embedded power switch on the unit and then as a precaution you can kill all batt power to the unit with the switch bettween batt. untill needed.

Hello ,there are several dealers here on this forum for gear, but for sure when you say cams went up in smoke you should check all the wire/cable that was inline with your setup as well the outlets involved for any damage before you continue and maybe a good idea to check any other LV or electrical work work done by your "alarm guy"

looking for suggestion on a very good low light dome cam
Lolo Wolf replied to griffonsystems's topic in Security Cameras
Ive had great results with sanyo box cams.....but I really think your in the right direction with the Panasonic domes, you can really tweak them. I recently used one with a 2.2mm superwide lens for a special application.... the tamper alarm added security considering it was monitoring a critical firearm storage area, clear-sharp-zero issues (WV-CW484) -
Also check if the power is sharing a circuit with a wall dimmer switch (slide dimmers can be problematic more than the push button staged dimmers) When not in use the faint lines will be present and then at night when you energize the dimmer it can cause more prenounced distortion. Look for a source of induced voltage on your line or as stated could be a faulty cam.

I would suggest that you investigate Industrial/machine pro rated gear for your application as well check all your codes and liability data with your insurance writer, any and all retofit/work onboard should be done with extreme caution and worked from a approved plan. here is one such source you can look at http://www.industrialvideosolutions.com/systems.html

Hello, in that situation you do camera looking at camera, install the second camera covert. Very often a cam is removed or tampered with prior to tresspass or just vandalism. It is very important to let the client know that he tells no one else about the secondary cam.

Asus Boards and Latest onboard Audio Issues
Lolo Wolf replied to rory's topic in Computers/Networking
Hello Rory, I had similar issues with DVR builds using some P4P8T boards from Asus found that if you shut down the soundMax agent service or change to manual from auto start up the problem was resolved for me using these boards. Dont know if it will work with the other boards. Dont hold your breath waiting for Asus I like their products but the tech support is poor. -

Call for utility locator (local poco locater will tone and mark for you) Some pointers on trenching: Do not assume that utilities are installed according to current (or past) NEC requirements. Underground conduits may be encountered at any depth,do not rely on “as-builtâ€

Redflex is one of the majors in that field they own about 40% of the US market and ATS (American Traffic Solutions) if you are a contractor/working from bid there are quite a few electrical outfits and subs working traffic signal projects public/DOT etc that do the underground induction loops, DSL lines, horizontal drilling, mounting cameras, concrete/ foundation , poles etc according to spec, the newer systems use laser detection that doesnt require in ground loops or piezo sensors and wireless is starting to envolve into the industry. Most of the the cams used are custom fabricated and a lot of digital specialty gear not off the shelf buys, there are maintenance and design standards tied to contracts in the work Ive been involved with in the past http://www.lasercraftinc.com/ http://www.roadtraffic-technology.com/contractors/photo_enforcement/redflex/

If the elevator has a emergency phone in the cab with at least two pairs of wire (Ive seen some with four pairs) One of the pairs will be dedicated to the cab telephone; the other perhaps available on request to use their spare for UTP/CCTV. You will need approval and inspection as codes are tight.

It would be a clear diservice and threat to our combat men and women to provide any info on defeating IEDs there is already too much information on the web that often adds insights to killing our troops.
