  1. yes separate is good, but if you dont have that option any cam that separates the IR and the camera lens is a good thing, even the dual lens dome or bullets are ok.

    Cisco Certs

CCNA is the go, ICND1 part one and ICND2 part 2 make up the CCNA. you can do just the first one and get a basic cert or both separate or one big exam. Z
  3. for sure that's all I will have and cars at 5-100kph !
  4. I`ll have some 5w IR, 3w, 5w IR LASER ,20w IR LASER a Rayled 50 and a extreme EX12 bit of a mix -making the control box at the moment so far the Axis Q1755 is great at night if you get the settings spot on. z
  5. cool, I wonder what the interface to the IR will be ?
  6. yes they are a bit clunky sometimes my 3401 takes 10 seconds to do anthing after you click an option in the web interface -they need to fix this -just copy axis repsonse times as a reference lets see some IR shots with movement ! z
  7. cant see in the spec's thats it "IR corrected" but im pretty sure it is unless you refocused it ? - lets see a grab of some movement m
  8. no iris that I can see, just focus and ZOOM 3-12mm . Ah sweeeeeeeeet I see it was a the IR-filter ! send a cheque to...... that picture looks pretty sharp whats the shutter speed ? m
  9. Its the low end of the scale, im also testing a Raymax 50 with a Axis Q1755 and Arecont 3100DN -will upload the demo's images on my site z

    Plate read at 2km

no problem, just started a new range http://www.zmx.com.au/longrange.htm z
  11. that Ebay special on 2.4Ghz would be a big PITA ! If you want a solution thats not to expensive use 4 IP cams and a wireless bridge and DVR software on a PC or the users PC -not recommened tho should be separate. example: Cameras Acti 4201`s /3401 domes DVR software I use Visec but its your call. The Acti's come with Free DVR software and its not bad. Wireless bridge [2] on 5.8GHz Small POE switch for the remote end. TP-link etc z
  12. Yes ok for small jobs ~30m range, Better off getting a real one ! I use custom power injectors, 12v for small jobs 24vac for longer. I use the Acti 1311 IR POE cam they are great -plug in -point . z
  13. I dont think they have a manual Iris ? Anyway looks like the camera has switched to night mode but the cut filter is still there. it has not moved -you should be able to hear it move ? The First two illuminators are Ebay toys 1st one might do 10m the other a wide angle for ceilings etc the other "military" should produce a nice crisp BW picture. z

    HD Sanyo Cameras

I would be interested to see how it compares with the Axis Q1755 so far im really impressed with it only negative is the focus hunts at bit and at night with the cut filter off a bit more.
  16. I must say most of them are pretty poor design often there is no shield on the video which induces all sorts of crud onto the power rails, sometimes affecting other cameras of the same design.... Many times I have pulled bullets apart to put "grown-ups" wiring in there ! z
  17. yes the secrets out white LED's do a great job, I think its all in the color temperature of the light, floods are warmish in color LED's stay at 6000k or so and don't move color due to voltage fluctuation. It looks to me like almost like a 10 to 1 ratio. A 1w LED can do equivalent 10watts of "bulb" light -a sweet deal.... Im designing a 10W [small] White LED illuminator as we speak the LEDs are in the post ! [parts ~$100] I have 100w halogens as my base line. Infrared has its uses, but a crisp color shot will always win the day, Rayled white lights work fantastic but the prices are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to high. I think we will see more White LED's turn up integrated like the Axis M`s z
  18. yes the jump is way to $big$ on a 7411 being triple the price. I have been holding off buying them due to this night problem. looks like multiple shadows in that last night shot, and there quite long so the lights must be close and low also ? In these pic's the shutter speed must the real slow, like \25 lets see a car drive past and catch the plate or a person try to sneak past. I get the feeling that Acti is on the verge of adding better night capability to there cameras... they just need to fix sensor noise and more cut filters. Would not hurt to throw in a built in illuminator in there. I think anyone can build an IP camera for the day but night sorts em out...
  19. Please read the previous emails people before commenting. Yes I know the 3401 has no cut filter "that why its poor..." I said Those night shots [7411] look good -must have some serious flood lights ! ? can it pick out a face or license plate as they go by ??

    camera acting weird

Sounds like the night filter is stuck during the day or not switching info: Using a dual window IR-Cut and IR-Pass filter, the WZ18 delivers vivid color during day and exceptional performance to infrared at night. The mechanical filter technology helps eliminate focus shift and infrared bleed for effective 24/7 performance. z

    Dome Camera 2.8-10mm

98 feet IR ! ..."in space"
  22. maybe I was too kind I know it does not have a cut filter, but complete blackness is a crap, Even with some 100w Halogen spotlights its poor !
  23. thanks dude..... They are still very expensive, It would have to perform well under IR if I was to use them. I have a ACM3401 Dome in testing and it's not to bad during the day but night its poor. The sensor is very noisy, a little bit of fine tuning there and it would be a winner. z
