    Post your Camera & Pic's

I would have thought that someone posted this already, however upon a search I wasn't able to find anything. With that said, can you post your camera model(s) and a sample picture of what the output looks like. Also, feel free to leave your comments on whether or not you would purchase this camera again. Thank you, Rick

    Best recording quality settings?

"Also, best quality is not to use an LCD, and if you do, use a really good one, dont go cheap on that. And the Video card must be very good also. However, those do not effect the recording quality." That's the issue that I'm facing now... I have a GV-800 and an ATI card but a standard flatscreen Dell Monitor. The video is "good" at best. I'm thinking about adding a regular CCTV Monitor into the mix. I have to have clear video. Anyone have any other ideas about how to get around this..? Thanks,

    Want a Sanity check please…!!

Rory... Thank you for the feedback. I really didn't consider "a 12/2 run" to the flood light "high voltage", but if that's the case, I'll have to make the necessary adjustments. What is your thoughts about my other quetsion...?? "The one additional question that I did have… I want to fabricate a covert bracket to mount another bullet camera on and place it in the shrubbery for a short period of time (say a week or two). Last year I had an issue with the kids the night or two before and after Halloween. My question is, can I use the pre-fabed Siamese cable outside and tuck it in behind the bushes like Christmas lights..?? "" Thank you again, Rick
  4. I just wanted to get a sanity check to see if I’m possibly forgetting something, or if anyone has a better suggested on HOW to set up the wiring up better. For starters, I have a bi-level house. I was planning on locating the PC on the bottom floor of the house in a cubby hole behind the stairs. Its nice and dry & cool the, Plus I have easy access to run my cables. I ran an 1.5 PVC pipe from the attic to the laundry room. Here I am planning on running the pre-fab co-ax cables from the camera’s into the attic, down the 1.5 PVC into the laundry room and over thru the ceiling to the area where the PC is located. I’m a going to mount the Bullet camera’s just under the flood lights which are located on either corner of the house. My intention was to run the co-ax cable thru the same hole as the flood light wiring so that I can avoid additional drilling. Does anyone see any issues with this setup so far…?? The one additional question that I did have… I want to fabricate a covert bracket to mount another bullet camera on and place it in the shrubbery for a short period of time (say a week or two). Last year I had an issue with the kids the night or two before and after Halloween. My question is, can I use the pre-fabed Siamese cable outside and tuck it in behind the bushes like Christmas lights..?? Thanks for your help
  5. Thank you for the feedback. I will continue to search and do my research on the board. Is there a quality company "online" that you would recommend and trust to purchase from..?? Also, there are some detailed information that I forgot to mention about the camera that you pointed out. The camera in the back of the house will be in complete darkness at night. I'm looking to fabricate a bracket and mount the bullet camera right under the flood-lights that I have at each corner of the house. With that said, I was going to run the Camera cable thru the same hole as the electric wire goes in to feed the lights. DO you foresee this being an issue..?? I'm assuming someone has done this. Thanks again and please keep the recommendations coming...
  6. I just want to start off by saying that I've been viewing the site for a few weeks and it seems like the place to be for CCTV information. I registered today and this is the first post... so be nice..! To start off I'm a Enterprise Computer/Network consultant so I'm pretty abreast of the computer side of things. My questions are more around the Camera, cabling recommendations. The system I'm designing is for Home use only to monitor the front & back of the house. For now just a two camera setup would work fine with the intent of expanding to other cameras at a later time. The movement around the back back of the house is minimal. The movement at the front of the house is also light (i.e. a car going up the street now and then, people walking the dogs, etc..) i recently had some people swimming in my pool while I was away as well as some kids tamporing with my car in the driveway. The system is a PC based system using a GV-800-8 DVR card. I would like to hear some recommendations for a good quality Day/night outdoor camera as well as the cables. I see that some people have the seperate power supplies, while other have the "combo" type of cable with the power built in. Also, since I have not purchased the GV-800 card yet, if anyone could recommend a place that sells them cheap that would be great too. Thank you for having me on the site and I look forward to speaking with you... Rick
