  1. I have a problem regarding Axis 213 PTZ camera.

Since it is installed it is giving us very bad picture during the night. Later on I saw the specs for 213 and it says IR up to 3m, so no wonder it was that bad so but another problem is when IR from the camera is on, during the night, camera looses the focus (it is set to auto focus). It focuses on the camera globe (water drops) rather then on surrounding. But if I switch off the camera IR, set manual focus and use external IR the picture is better.

Yes btw camera is set on the beach side which means lot of sea drops on the globe, is there a solution to this problem as well? And what can I do that camera is properly focused when using it’s own IR?

  2. Yes this is impressive.

I tried to explain some people the difference between these two but also I am not very familiar with technical data. Most of the people who do not work with CCTV just say night capability and this is it, they do not know that it is a bit more then just that...IR, night vision, different IR (850, 940)...etc so I tried to find out a bit more.

    Thanks a lot....

  3. Hi guys, I have a question?

What is the difference between IR and night vision.

I know that night vision leaves a slight green glow when looking at the image on the monitor but I am interested in differences in specs.

I want to google it but I know you can answer my question much better. I worked only with IR till now.

    Thank a lot,

    Tomislav

  4. So there is no DVR with integrated battery. Strange...I thought that somebody will think about that....

Sure there are... but a small battery in a small recorder will only last so long. I've used a small unit with internal HDD, battery, and 4" LCD... works great, but the battery will last for MAYBE two hours' recording, if the LCD is off. It's a simple equation of battery time vs. size - the more time you want out of it, the bigger it has to be, no way around it. It doesn't take long until you hit the point of diminishing returns, where the size of the battery hampers the portability.

Basically I will have a vehicle which will be up out for 8-10 hours, I can tell them that they need to run the car all time, but in case they will be in one spot for 2-3 hours with engine switch off then it is a problem.

Not at all. A car battery should run a small unit for days. If you use a separate high-capacity deep-cycle battery with an isolator, as described above, you could probably run the thing for a couple weeks and still be able to start the car.

Ok, this changes things, let me try one of this options.... only now I have to find battery and the isolator.

  6. Dear gentleman,

I have one project and would like you opinion.

I need to set up one vehicle (large one) with mobile DVR (2 channel) , PTZ with night vision (940nM).

Do you know any mobile DVR that support PTZ protocol?

Is there a mobile DVR that powers the cameras?

Does the DVR has internal battery? and when the power is low you can replace it with full battery?

Hope you can help out on this one.

    Thanks a lot,

    Tomislav

  7. Address 72.xxx.x.xx is ipchicken address, I guess it is ISP's outgoing address for all their internet or at least my side....

On my router I have static ip which is 172... (which is assigned to me by the ISP) and then my LAN is 192....

I know I have many crossroads to get to internet that is why I am kind of thinking this is my problem...

Well static ip is not really an issue here, they give it if you need it.... how nice of them......

This below are the ports that I had to open according to the DVR manual on my router.

    1 port:75 ip :192.x.x.x

    2 port:54000-54030 ip: 192.x.x.x

    3 port:6610 ip:192.x.x.x

  8. It makes sense that work network is blocking it but I tried to use netproxy to bypass it but also nothing.

My standalone DVR is really third party one, so it is not well known brand but quite efficient for this purpose. I received the software but only for viewing video not remote access but I downloaded video server and couldn\'t manage to log in even internally.

I tried to ping the address and I receive a reply. This is one 72......external ISP one.

I tried to change the port on the DVR from 80 to 75 and then I am not able to se it internally but again I wasn\'t aware of option of putting ip +port number, so I will check again.

  9. I tried 71.187.250.136:80 and nothing happens. I am also using port 80 on the DVR.

Plus I have an option DDNS and PPOE on the DVR.

In the manual for DVR it said that I need to open 3 ports. I will write later more details since I am not at home right now.

Is it possible that ISP is not allowing this?

Since even in 172....(ISP LAN) it works, only from ISP -INTERNET it doesn\'t?

  10. Dear guys,

I know that it was a lot of topics regarding the issue above and I tried many solution from CCTV forum but I still have problems

OK, I set up my router with isp ip, which is 172.......,

I use my internal ip for DVR which is

    192.168.1.5, static ip,

    255.255.255.0

172.... is DNS from the isp on the DVR, it came automaticly.

I have router TP Link W542G which I set up virtual servers (port forwarding) according to the manual. I opened 3 types of port and one of them is IE 80.

When I am inside my network I can access DVR with local IP and also I can access it if I put in 172..... ip from the ISP.

Ok, it gets interesting/complicated for me now.

I go to ipchicken and my address is 79......I guess it is outside IP for the ISP.

Today I tried to access it from outside my network and there was no luck.

I type 70....ip in IE or 172...ip and nothing

Do I need some kind of application to run it, like video server e or......or did I miss something?

Thanks a lot for you help....

  11. Hi, I need your help..

I am planning to install one IR camera 38 LED to watch over my car in the public parking area but I do not want anybody to see the camera ( which is on the first floor btw).

I was planning to put fiber glass but illuminators are reflecting the light, so that will not work. Any idea?

  12. Hi Gentleman,

I have a problem and I hope you guys have some advice.

I bought DVR PCI card 4 channels for home use. Of course it is made in China and it wasn't cheap, around 100$, ok it wasn't also very expensive but I received QX2006 software with it and that software is really bad or I am not using it properly.

I can see the input video, but I can not make it work properly, it can not record on demand or on motion!

I was checking also on net and tried LuxRiot as well but it can not detect the camera. I know when you buy a card there is limited software that you can use with it but do you know any other software that I could use? Or how to fix QX2006.

Also on the card there is some details PLX TECNHOLOGY PCI 6140-AA33PC0

    Thank a lot,

    Tomas

  13. Hey that sounds nice,

I am all for gathering or exchange of information and experience but please note that some of us will be coming from a bit far away so we need more time to prepare for our travel.

Just let me also know if anybody has any idea what to do, how and when?

it looks I am just looking for excuse to go for official" business trip"

Let’s see... maybe something will come out from this?! Anybody planning to go to Europe for IFSEC? in May in UK?

  14. Hi Rebco,

I am stationed in Lebanon for now, so for me the best thing is online training but I will, in the near future, attend the official one with certification. I want to find one whose certificate is recognized internationally, Europe and USA.
