Use VLC to view feeds from chinese DVRs

I'm a little confused by the url layout... All run together, including the "&", like this? "rtsp://192.168.XX.XX:your_rtsp_port/user=admin&password=12345&channel=1&stream=0.sdp?real_stream--rtp-caching=100" Edit: It get's me there but I have to reenter the login credentials.
  2. A little deep for most beginners but as an example of enterprise quality material that's available... HP ProCurve 2520-24-PoE (J9138A) 24 Port POE switch - 2xGbe + 2SFP US $21.50 http://www.ebay.com/itm/191233221679?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

  5. The CBX was about as smooth as it gets, thank you CBX! Excellent, thanks!
  6. After you start FTP on the cam with the "setFtpService start" command in telnet the FTP uses "root" & IIRC "12345" as pw.
  7. Has anyone tried the new 5.1.6 on a CBX fixed camera? ftp://ftp.hikvisionusa.com/

    Noip down?

    Discussion on Slashdot: http://yro.slashdot.org/story/14/07/01/0025220/microsoft-takes-down-no-ipcom-domains
  9. How can you tell, did the build number change? I wonder if they have or will put a tamper check in it...
  10. Thanks... now where's that CBX critter, I'll have to get one of my cams Mericanized so I can play.
  11. Note he already has a switch. He needs 1 outlet to plug the POE into (instead of another switch) and 3 patch cables after the POE into his switch. If he's buying cables & not making his own that will run all of $2.31* US making his cost a little over $50 instead of over $150 for an overpriced device that he doesn't need. * http://www.monoprice.com/Search?cp_id=10232&cs_id=1023203&keyword=Cat%206%20patch
  12. Nice break down, thanks! Any before and after shots?

    Lorex LNR280

Isn't the Lorex LNR 280 NVR basically the same as the Hikvision DS-7608NI-SE/P? If so you can get their recommended drives at Newegg at a decent price. Tested-compatible HDDs for HIKVISION DVR/NVR/HDVR http://www.hikvision.com/en/support_more.asp?id=201
  14. WiFi-Texas out of Austin, call them and ask what you need. I'm getting: WS-POE-8-802.3af Passive - Always On 48 volt 60 watt $42.95 http://wifiqos.com/index.php http://wifiqos.com/WS-POE-8-48v.pdf
  15. Thank you again, kind sir. I suppose my next question may be a little out there... Can you visualize bringing this knowledge & technology from what I would guess is the large institutional market to the residential market? Grounding for the masses...

Hikvision: Internal NIC IP4 Address & DHCP?

/When all else fails... RTFM So does this mean it's safe to use the same IP as the NVR for the Internal IPv4 Address? I'm a little gun shy on this setup as 1 of my 5 2032 cams won't connect to the NVR through POE but works using external power supply & connected to my network switch. I'm not sure if it's the cam or a setting I changed while playing with it prior to setting up the NVR.
  17. Do you have a user manual? I'm not familiar with your setup but you should be able to log into the camera from either your NVR, browser or manufacturer's provided software.
  18. Fascinating information, thank you westom! May I ask how you've learned all of this & is this something you do for work? Most of this is over my head but I'm hoping some of it will sink in.
  19. How does that affect stored video, is it stored sideways? If so, can it be converted for export to disc?
  20. /Empties basket of 1000 cameras.
  21. AliExpress purchase? Either they licensed it or stole it from CBX... Hopefully they have licensed it and now have CBX on board. That would be a win for the AliExpress buyers as well as the company. If it's stolen I'd refuse charges on my CC until they resolved it with CBX. /just sayin
  22. Yep, a little over $75 for the NVR with no tracking or insurance. Guess who is shopping for a POE switch?

    POE Switch Uplink?

    Thank you freakwent, much appreciated.
  24. Yes sir, that it is. Interestingly enough it displays the day of the week in English. I was wondering if you wanted a dump of the firmware to examine. If it's showing English day of the week and English menus on 5.1.6 that you have put on yourself (not that it came with) without my region changer program or manual file hacks then you have an English factory version camera If all of the above not the case then probably not I'm not sure what you are saying. I haven't done anything to the camera, it came with 5.16 on it and displays all OSD in English. I'd rather not try anything until I know what exactly I have.
