    geovision gv-800 dual card

I was under the impression you had to run 1120 or 1240 cards in order to go to the 32 channel setup. Also it required 8.2 or 8.3 I have not seen where you can run 2 gv-800s

    HD Sanyo Cameras

I will try and get the hd4000 online this week. I am off recovering from surgery and should be able to get it running soon I will send you a link and admin password so you can play with it
  5. usually there are a masking function to stop the recording for say a window where cars drive by all the time and you are not interested in outside activity there should also be sensitivity setting which will mean the camera will have to detect a greater degree of motion to trigger recording for instance 1 least sensitive 10 highest. at ten any little thing will set off recording slight variations in lighting etc. one may be so low nothing is triggered.

    control center 8.2

Does anyone know if this software will support the 32 camera version on Geo I am going to download the version on Geos's website but don't know if that supports the 32 cam software. Right now I can display or list the first 16 cameras on anyone server. I have only had this software a couple on months and I don't want to repurchase it if there is a work around or upgrade.
  8. Has anyone written a program that will allow live view of a dvrflex4 ? i have a customer who would like to view his cameras on his blackberry but I don't know if it is possible. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you
  9. I have a potential customer with three doors and I think this would work as they will not be expanding at this location any thoughts?
  10. What ?? We installed one system it works fine but we got our tech support diectly from whoever owns Intell m at this point. I think Pelco is out of the picture on this product

    Geovision and Allegiant Biphase

I used a couple of protocol converters when I had a similar problem. I cannot rememeber the name now but they can convert just about any protocol to pelco P or something common. I used the converter on some BOSCH domes and they worked fine.

    disk space low

Check when you reinstalled that the paths for saving your files are set up correctly you can setup storage 1, 2, 3 etc and assign specific cameras. Also check where log files are being stored. If you do't set a path the will be stored on your c drive you want to keep that for your operation system and geovision software.

Propaganda or insanity? What do you think?

23 that is OLD!!! It was a combination of things people buying houses that could not get a car loan. The inability of the govt to regulate or let incompent business go under. But you are correct best way to have a recession is talk about it. You will probably go through at least three of these deals in your lifetime. The govt reaction/action will be the same and the system will take a lot longer to recover than it should. I am in michigan and I think we are qualifing for depression in this state. the community where we have our business has to have at least 20 per cent unimployment and it is gettiing worse every month.
  14. We installed some wireless base station and backhaul radios and were required to post warning signs about the dangers of RF. I don't know if you will be exposed but we had to post the area even though one area was a watertower and the other was a rooftop. I don't know what damage RF can do but I would check to see if you are going to get any direct hit from the antennas already on site.

    multiple LCD monitors

I have a customer that wants to replace some CRT monitors with five 42" lcd monitors I have looked at orion and LG I can get a better price on LG but wonder what anyone has used in this type of operation. I am panning on just feeding raw video form a multiex or a loop-out card but would like to be able to show computer screen or spread computer image over multiple units.
  16. Has anyone used this camera yet. I am looking to purchase a HD camera for demo purposes and am considering this one. Thanks

    Say what?

Do you have everything grounded? Power supply rack if rack mounted ? You are right it should not affect the other cameras but we are grounding every piece of rack mounted equipment along with the racks that we install. It is a seperate ground wire to an earth ground or the steel structure of the building. This may not solve anything but it is worth looking at.

    Wiring Question (inteference or not?)

If you can power closer it would enable you to run a spare cat 5 or six for that eventual expansion. once you make your initial pull through that conduit it will be hared to re-enter it with an additional wire. Also some codes only allow a % of fill. If you could power each floor from a seperate power supply it would make your trouble shooting much easier.

    Say what?

I have seen ground loops affect several cameras at once. Isolated power supplies have soved many of these problems. You mention cheap cable We like everyone else try to make as much as possible on a sale and to try and save 50.00 on cable is crazy. The other installer may have made some money on the install but he lost the customer. You might be better off in the long run to use the old cable as a pull string and replace it. Geo has problems but it sounds like a garfed install is the bigger issue.

    small system

I am looking at system for no more than 4 doors. I would like it to be programmable from a PC but not have to have a dedicated pc on line all the time. Simpler the better

    Cable routing

we use j hooks or bridal rings where the joist may not be in the right place to turn a corner or make another type of transiition. The main thing is to keep it out of the insulation if you ever have a problem it is better not to have to dig the cable out of the blown in stuff or fibergass

    Sanyo VCC-HD4000

I have temp placed the sanyo camera in a hosiptal radiation treatment room. They have a patient who has to be sedated before they can receive treatemt so this means the vitals have to be monitored but no one can be in the room we have 4 cameras now but this one is temp on a machine that is monitoring the vitals. The problem is we cannot just drill into the leadlined room and run a cable we are using an existing data drop and pulling the video off from the hosiptal network. We hope to have a perminate solution in place this week but the pics are outstanding.

    Geovision Dongle cord Extension Needed

we have tried using the vga extension trick and have not had good luck with it until we tied a ground to where the male female connectors meet. I have given up on the vga ext approach and have purchased some mini coax 6 ft bnc extensions. I have not tried this yet but will on my next install. We have used standard rg-59 bnc patch cords but they are not flexible and take up too much space on the rack.

recorded files not showing in viewlog

I have a gv-800 that was running 8.2 and has been upgraded to 8.3.1. The only problem I have had with this unit is that when you look in the log files it only shows the last day even though there are several days recorded. If I go to my computer and search I can find the avi files and they are fine. I have run the database repair and have purged old files but I still cannot see recorded files and access them through viewlog,

recorded files not showing in viewlog

If I had read the manual I would have know you can choose to display only the most recent events or all events
