can you provide a little line drawing with indication of how things are presently hooked up and where you want cameras. I am getting confused. Some times you can use existing utility poles but many times the owners will not let you attach anything to their poles without a contact. In our area the power companies are very strict about this.

I would look into the existing pvc if it is that long they should have put in hand holds or junction boxes to make pulling the cable easier. Check out fiber costs and you will find for the bandwith and flexibility is may be your cheapest way to go. The ubiquity solution will not be cheap while the equipment is reasonable you are looking at setting utility poles and providing power to the units which can be expensive.

what are your settings on the lan are the cameras on one subnet and the nvr on another and have you got port fowarding setup.

I have used patton products in the past and had no issues. THeir ethernet extender basically sets up a DSL link using twisted pair. I have not used the extenders where their was a heavy load but to extend to a building 1800 feet a way with 3 or 4 computers it worked with no problems.

as well as the converters to cat 5 I would use a powered hdmi splitter.

Does the skyline operator release the logs? If so is he not able to see the landing? seems like the video link should be from the skyline operator to the landing spot.

I would buy the lorex camera from costco if possible that way you know it is compatible and you have only one supplier to deal with.

check the port fowarding on your router and make sure the IP address on your nvr has not changed. It is possible the dhcp was enabled and when the router got rebooted it passed out a new IP on your internal network.

did you test the cat 6 cables you should wire map the cables to see if you have the connectors or jacks on correctly the lines should be all lines straight through. You can get cable wire mappers at any of the big box stores.

you should stick to 100 meters with cat 5 or 6 especially if you are running poe. the distance you are talking about going wireless and only running a single camera could be accomplished useing ubiquity equipment. look up their many offerings and you should be able to find a pair of APs for under $200.00.

lots of factors to consider line of site, other devices using frequency, are you going to use licensed equipment. Have you had a spectrum scan to see what is out there. What kind of distances between access points. Power avalibity. I have limited experience with this type of install but they generally take a fair amount of engineering to make work. What is your budget? THese things can be super expensive per camera when everything is factored in.

Are you capturing European plates or US.? In US their are many designs and some states do not require a front plate

I have always used a powered HDMI extender over cat5/6 some require 2 cat 6s but The range is greater and have had no problems with monitors up to 200 ft away. depending on brand they are not that much more. I just looked up one that went 164 feet was powered, used one cat 6, and is about 40.00

would it be easier/cheaper to just put up a camera with built in IRs that distance should be no problem

look into a LPR system which will include not only the camera but software that deals with the multiple issues of reading license plates especially at night as many have reflecting surfaces and different designs.

Do you have access to a cable tester that will tell you the distance to the short or open? I would find where the problem is and repair if necessary I do not know if pulling in a new cable is a big deal but then it would be fixed properly and you would not have to deal with splicing. also did you check the connectors at both ends. plugs and miswired jacks are a common problem.

You would need to use some kind of mid span device as the POE would only be good for approx. 300 feet and you are twice that. I would also run outdoor rated cat5 or 6 and check the electrical code for the requirement for entrance protection if going form one building to another.

the reason LPR cameras exist is that reading license plates is quite difficult . You have to account for reflective surfaces, graphic designs on plates, changing lighting conditions, speed of cars, camera placement, focus and auto iris. among other things so it is not always easy to consistently capture plates. Part of a plate reader system is also the software. It is possible to see plates with a standard camera but all these factors need to be looked at if you want to read every plate on every car.

POE should work out to 300 feet if the mfg is stating not to exceed 200 feet that would indicate either a crap camera or a camera that is not built to POE compliant specifications.

the PTZ is a IP camera? If so you probably will have to set a port forwarding rule on your router that points to the PTZs address

make sure all are in the same range for example 10.1.10.1 thru 10.1.10. 254 if one of the devices has a different IP it may not be visible to the other devices.
