X-vision TDVR4 password problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help .....

I've just installed an X-Vision TDVR4 system and it was all working well for a few days - including remote network access to the camera images from a PC.

I changed the access password (4 digit code) from the default 0000 and at first this was OK, but now the unit always responds with "incorrect password" every time I try to change a setting.

Remote access from a PC still works fine using the same new password.

The manual says that entering 1234 as the password will reset it to 0000 but this does not work. Whether I enter 0000, 1234 or the new password, I always get the "incorrect password" message. Accessing the DVR across my network, I can login using the new password, it does not change back to the default.

Power-cycling the DVR does not change anything.

Any suggestions for what to try next gratefully received.

(I've asked the dealer I bought the unit from the same question. I note the "support" tab on X-Vision's UK website doesn't seem to work otherwise I guess that would be the best place to ask.)

Thanks,

Brett

I think the manual means to hold in the 123 and 4 button to reset

I also have my own problem with accessing the dvr through the router, dont know if its something to do with protocals or baud rates, I cant get a hard wired link or net access, do you have any ideas? Is the netveiwer default user and pass 'admin'?

Thanks

Dan

I was contacted (via a different forum) by X-vision UK support and given a different code (not in any manual) to reset the password. They, obviously, don't want that code published anywhere.

Using the netviewer, for "server" you enter the IP address of the DVR and the "password" is the same as the password on the front panel - default is 0000.
