New guy here - looking for some knowledge

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I've been in the low voltage industry for about 14 years, doing security the whole time and the past 5 have been structured wiring, security, distributed audio/video, theater, home automation, card access, and the occasional CCTV job. Jack of all trades, master of none right here!

I've got a good grip on making a CCTV/DVR system work, but I feel like I'm missing some fundamentals. I'm finishing up a 32 cam system right now but I'm just not 100% confident in my aiming/focusing abilities, my camera OSD setup, and things like that. I guess I'm an experienced newbie... or an inexperienced tech with book smarts.

If you guys could point me in the right direction to learn some setup techniques I would greatly appreciate it.

Looking forward to the input!

Thanks,

Jim

I love the thread on back focus. That's EXACTLY the kind of thing I'm looking for here.

Didn't really need the "how to fish wires" one, though.

Thanks!

I threw some of the worthless ones more for the newbies who tend to look at the introductions.

I thought I would make someone else's search a little easier!

Sorry for the redundant info!!! LOL!

PS

Any critiques that could be added to that page to help the novices???
