Rugged Marine company

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ordered product from Rugged Marine and can comment on their services and reliability? We are looking at their New Scout 400 outdoor PTZ camera. Price seems reasonable. If anyone can comment on this product or recommend a product with similar functionality, we would appreciate it. Thanks.

They are the same company called Rugged CCTV - check both website and they are identical and have the same address:

http://www.rugged-cctv.com/contact.shtml

They are selling OEM products. Can't make any recommendations since we have not done any business with them...

Add this to the list:

http://www.carwashcameras.com/

I spoke with these guys on the phone. they wanted me to help them setup MP cameras for the Car wash system. They say they optimize the cameras for carwashes.

My name is Allen Spears, I am the Chief Engineer at Rugged CCTV. Thought I would respond to what has been said here. First, as to our cameras for car washes, we currently own 4 car washes where we test all of the cameras and/or any ruggedizing we do to make them hold up in that caustic environment (coatings for the glass fronts that help to resist etching via the chemicals, silicone, seals, etc.). We've been doing that for 18 years.

As to our other cameras and products: we have always made our own DVR's. As to cameras, we buy most of our housings on the open market and stuff them with whatever guts we need. Several of the housings are proprietary designs that we have made exclusively for us.

Most of the stuff that we actually manufacture here in Texas (as opposed to simply assembling), are products that we hold the Patents on.

Hope this clears up any misconceptions. Questions are welcome.
