NUUO 3.4 does not support network drive recording anymore

Recommended Posts

Made a rather annoying discovery on Friday.

NUUO 3.4 no longer supports recording to network drives. So now currently looking for a new software solution which doesn't render the customers 8TB NAS useless.

Why not go back to previous version? So need something that will right to a network share? Any way your NAS can do iSCSI?

Previous version had lag between transaction display on playback and the actual event. Given that it was a busy retail environment, 3.3 was not really suitable.

iSCSI might work. It's a Synology so I'll need to investigate. It's not something we've had to do in the past.

Vigil systems specifically don't allow SMB network shares as data drives, because they're too problematic (drives dropping off or not reconnecting at startup; failed connections have no retry/recovery procedure, etc.)

We've been using QNAP and Enhance arrays with iSCSI on them, though... works great. We tried an Synology once, but it didn't support iSCSI at the time... they do now, with the latest firmwares, so you should be fine.
