tin34543 0 Posted May 23, 2011 Hi, I am in the UK and looking to upgrade my home cctv system and am looking for some advice and suggestions on what best would fit my requirements. I would need: - At least 4 cameras (2 indoors 2 outdoors) with option to add more cameras later - To record motion capture images every second or so to a device like a DVR with a hard disk and to simultaneous upload to an ftp server (so I can have a copy of the images stored at home and a copy stored externally) - to be able to view all cameras throuhg one interface via a web browser from anywhere - to have descrete cameras that are small enough to be 'hidden' from view - if possible to be able to view the live feeds on a mobile phone - if possible to be powered over the same cable the feed the video signal as I don't wnat to have to install power outlests everywhere the cameras are (is this possible?) Up until now I have used devices from ICAMView which work ok but I now need a more professional and reliable system. Having look at companies like CPC who have loads of different dvr/camerra packages i am at a lost to know which ones I should be considering? for example: http://cpc.farnell.com/x-vision/s4-450d-e4tx-160/dvr-4-vandel-dome-netw-160gb/dp/SR0770405?Ntt=sr0770405 or http://cpc.farnell.com/swann-security/sw344-dps/dvr-320gb-hdd-4-cam-7-monitor/dp/SR0773305?Ntt=SR0773305 cheers PT

Soundy 1 Posted May 26, 2011 "Professional and reliable" for £500 may be a bit ambitious. A single "professional" camera can cost £500.

What need is not being met by your current system?
Fortuna PS 0 Posted June 24, 2011 Hi Do you want IP or analog camera's? If IP I would consider the QNAP Security range and you can then just choose which IP camera's you need. Regards
