Looking for an outdoor camera for our cold winters.

Recommended Posts

Alright peoples, one more camera question.

Looking for a good outdoor camera to overlook a large parking lot.

The parking lot is fairly lit at nights with large towers.

Not looking for a PTZ.

I spoke to somebody and this was recommended to me.

Everfocus EHD525

http://everfocus.com/product.cfm?productid=32

Do you guys have any suggestions?

My indoor cameras are all going to be

CNB-24VD

I would have loved to stick with that CNB theme.

Side note, my winters hit -20F to -40F

Yea, just get the VCM-24VFH - same thing as the VCM/VBM-24VF, just with a couple heating elements.

Do u think its worth it to suggest analog camera for large parking lot

Do u want this

But what does that camera look like at night with motion?

no blur

exposure time 1/30 or less

and another point

do u think at that distance and field of view customer would care about blur ?

I'd rather have the analog. The cars and the people are too small in your other shots.

We get down to single digits here, but mostly in the teens [F]. I hope my cams will survive.

I agree that analog may be better. It is cheaper and you can have multiple cameras for close ups. The IP cams blur out when you zoom in to close. I'm guessing the analog sample is from a not a very good analog camera. Try an Effio chip and see how much better it would be.

Sure the colors are great in IP but that's really not important in surveillance, detail is and a good analog camera could do the trick.

Yea, I can't zoom in to the IP cam picture and get details as good as the analog picture.\

No doubt, one analog camera for a large parking lot will only be good for seeing "whats-up". If you need identification, go with multiple cameras...
