Soundy 1 Posted January 17, 2012 I assume these are all "Smart TVs"? Your TV would have to have the ability to view your DVR's network stream... if your TVs have web browsers and the DVR supports browser viewing *without an ActiveX plugin* you might be okay. chesterfield 0 Posted January 17, 2012 If they arent smart TV's, then another option (although costly) would be to have a small pc for each TV. I have used a couple within the home of the very small pc's that are designed to fix to the back of a monitor and feed the hdmi out from these to the TV set. cbodbyl 0 Posted January 18, 2012 I'm assuming these are analog cameras you're talking about, it sounds like you need a video modulator. The modulator will 'inject' the cctv camera feed onto a channel that you can view on the TV like you see in apartment buildings. The DVR to LAN connection could then be used to view the cameras from PC's on the network or even remotely. Don't just buy any modulator though, you will need one specifically designed for the type of cable feed your customer is using(like digital or analog). You will also need to know what channels are open for the modulator to use. If you live in Canada you can message me and I can recommend a great company that has custom tuned modulators for me in the past. If you're using IP cameras and a NVR then you would have to look at adding video cards to the NVR and running cables to each TV. Hope this helps. Otherwise, it's back to the PC route. ok I had a look it to this and my tv's have a " Pc input" ( VGA ) in being so Im thinking one way to go would be to pick up a 20m Vga cable ($50+) and that way, its only a quick switch of an input source. benf 0 Posted February 3, 2012 I just bought a hybrid DVR but my old analog DVR I had setup to distribute video to other TV's in the house using a 1x4 switch like this: http://www.celabs.net/products/av-distribution/composite/item/av400?category_id=129 Ran CAT5 to each TV with video baluns on each end to run video over CAT5. Very good picture quality overall. Now that I'm on a hybrid DVR that has only VGA output I'm going to try one of these: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000X3FAJU (Sorry, can't find manufacturer link) Will convert VGA to composite so I can use my existing distribution system. Not expecting the world in terms of quality (first with the very cheap VGA to composite converter, along with the loss of quality just going VGA to composite) but I have simple needs and don't need super high quality. If it equals the quality I had before over composite I'll be happy. I looked into running VGA over CAT5 and appears there's a couple solutions as long as you aren't going over 100 feet but kind of costly (about $150 per TV) so want to try this method first. gordonh 0 Posted February 4, 2012 Instead of buying expensive long VGA cables, could you not just use a phono lead from the video out of the DVR and run that to the TVs in the house with a view splitters to feed them all at once? ethanw 0 Posted February 5, 2012 Doesn't every CCTV DVR got a video out? My DVR does and I plug that into my home prewired splitter for all my TV's and I get all my CCTV cameras on all TV's. I cant speak for that link at all, its Hong Kong, home of Pirated DVRs, Pirated DVDs, and Pirated Software. For all we know they could be selling you an empty metal box.
