Transmit CCTV data over 500 metres to viewing station

Recommended Posts

Hi

We are a residential complex in Bangalore, India.

We plan to install about 12 Cameras to monitor the boundary wall & basement parking areas.

We shall be monitoring the feed continuously on a 32" LCD TV as well as recording the same.

Most of the cameras will be installed about 500 cable metres away from the viewing & recording station.

Some cameras will be in close proximity to each other, so the data can be transmitted over a single cable( If technically possible)

Please advise what sort of cameras & cables we should look for so that we can have a visually clear (without data degradation) & a cost effective solution.

Thanks for advising

If analogue then the active Baluns are the right way to go. If ip you can install a network to put the cameras on obviously you will need to observe the 100m limits of cat 5 but you can always use fibre optic or a wireless network.
