how to intergrate infrared perimeter beams into dvr systems?

Recommended Posts

I have a client that wants infrared beams installed into his backyard, but when its tripped it turns flood lights on and alerts him via sms and email. Does anyone have input on this situation?

thanks for your time and help!

The possibility of doing that is going to be based on what kind of DVR you are using, and whether it has inputs and outputs to allow that (most do)

Usually, it's pretty straightforward, wiring the dry contact outputs from the motion sensors to inputs on the DVR, and wiring the output from the DVR to some kind of alerting device (higher power devices will usually require a relay to be added to handle the load).

Then, it's a matter of programing the DVR accordingly.

Yes, that's why I mentioned that it was dependent on the DVR's features- looks like he's out of luck with that DVR.

What ever u do u need I/O (input/output)

so if comp then u need capture card plus options for IP

or NVR with IP servers like Avigilon for example

and I/O card

and few more combinations are avail

lots of choices

You might try any NVR with external video servers as well, most video servers have I/O ports. Some recording software may be able to react to emails sent by the existing system as well, at least one open source video monitoring software for linux can...
