IE9 and my China Brand DVR

Hi All,

 

I am having trouble connecting to my DVR. It uses a DVROCX.OCX active x plugin. The ActiveX will run and show the login screen but it appears to have trouble connecting, like a firewall issue of some sort.

 

Troubleshooting from internally, the website appears to work on IE8 without issue. Any thoughts and tips?

in IE9 click F12 . On developer toolbar set up IE 8 mode

I have a customer who owns 15 different stores with q-see, icrealtime, zmodo dvrs. They always have trouble with them and they accuse me, but I already know its IE9 on their computers. I have been looking for a solution for a while.

Yes i test this procedure and its worked on this series of generic chinese DVR http://www.ebax.si/app/trg/index.php/cameras-cctv-recorders-c-21_79 ( i think its manufacturer is BXS). But you must still set up active x access controls like usually. I must follow this procedure to enable active x ; http://www.ebax.si/privat-kamere/videonadzorne-kamere-E-ActiveX%20Controls.pdf

 

Bt since active x access has so many limitatons , i alwasy try to instal clinent DVR program and a nice icon od desktop

And another thing : there is one more settings in IE9 than can affect video : somewhere in Tools section you have choice of using bitmap rendering VS GPU acclerated rendering. But right now i cant remember exact location, will look when i come home

Not only install active x, but add the URL of the dvr into 'trusted sites' in internet options, security.

I believe that turning on 'compatibility view' will solve the problem It is that torn sheet of paper icon next to address.

You might want to try the "Chrome" browser - it allows pre-IE9/8 compatibility.

 

I've tried all of the tricks with IE9 (and firefox) to no avail with my unit (rebadged DN-9016, OEMed DVR) - the Chrome route worked fine.

 

Also, you might want to try the actual "NetViewer" program which came with your unit, you get better functionality.
