evnldr 0 Posted December 15, 2012 (edited) Well, I have a dvr card hv4000 everfocus cams, works ok only deal is.. the send pic via email don't work. I was looking for a simple 4ch stand alone dvr, I have plenty of hdd's. Seen some on the bay of e for 70$ with no hdd. All I want is to record motion and send me a pic of said event. not worried about remote view. even a good cap card with good software would be ok.. just want to protect my home. Had a usb card and well it died. DVR3104 ? Located in DE. Thanks. Jason Edited December 15, 2012 by Guest
evnldr 0 Posted December 15, 2012 I don't need 4 real time recording. I will only watch one cam if that at a time. and i only want to record 10 sec before and after any motion. cameras are outside cams and there is not much motion. Dahua kinda look ok? I would even entertain a used one if the price was right. funds are low. just spent 100 for current system. any issue with this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Channel-H-264-Surveillance-Security-Network-Driver-Digital-Video-Recorder-DVR-/120972705500?pt=US_Surveillance_Digital_Video_Recorders_Cards&hash=item1c2a88fedc other than ebay
tomcctv 190 Posted December 15, 2012 Hi. The unit you listed is and looks like a converted PVR. Spec hides it's true performance. It's D1 only while live view .....record is CIF It will not send you images only SMS alert And the part that gives it away as a converted PVR is hard drive goes to sleep which is never a good thing.........you will miss 10 to 20 seconds of any event as HD needs to start and get upto speed. You also need to look for green drives not standard if your going to install your own. But your just buying $40 crap.

tomcctv 190 Posted December 15, 2012 hi. in your link go to features. 1.H.264 main profile compression algorithm ideal for standalone DVR 2.4 channels Realtime full D1 recording or 2 channels real time full D1+ 6 channels real time full CIF recording, and real time multi channels playback that dvr ONLY has 4 channels..........dont know were they get 6 from 9.Powerful network software:built-in web server,multi-DVR client &SMS sms is text alet only. so spec is crap to start with its a $50 unit with $10 off if you buy from that seller........ buy the time seller imports from china i think your looking at a $20 unit............. i spend that an hour on coffee do yourself a favour........get yourself down to starbucks you will get more for your money........keep the system you have
aibudo 0 Posted December 15, 2012 Since it was for me, I just got one of the cheap Zmodo's (black face with no front panel buttons) and ended up loving that little thing. Does everything that I need for home. Still can't believe how much I like it. Maybe it's because the software ended up being very similar to some Falco's that I have installed for some of my customer's and I was used to them. Have 4 camera's installed and it looks like with the 500GB HD, it won't start over-recording for several month's. Network setup was supereasy. It may quit tomorrow, but as inexpensive as they are, I don't even care. I'm sure I'll hear how much a piece of junk it is, but that's also ok.
