Recommended Posts

Hello, does anyone know the rtsp url for hikvision cameras?

I have searched and searched... I found several but none of them worked.

Anyone know?

The camera model is CMIP8212

Thanks

"Our NVR had no problem connecting to the RTSP stream once they were configured as hikvisions"

from an amazon review

rtsp://admin:12345@192.0.0.64/MPEG-4/ch1/main/av_stream

Sub stream:

A another question are you using vlc player to check if it's working?

rtsp://camera_ip:554/ another one to try till the smart ones arrive

Well I am trying quicktime player to test it....

Never tested, but another one that could work:

rtsp://IPADDRESS:554/Streaming/Channels/1

And ofcourse when set, requires user and pass:

rtsp://user:pass@IPADDRESS:554/Streaming/Channels/1

(If this isn't working for some reason, try rtsp://IPADDRESS:554//Streaming/Channels/1 )

Yep I tried all those...

Question. those are supposed to point to the camera right? Not to the NVR?

I was trying those links with the ip of the camera...

OK, the other cameras I have tested the rtsp link with quicktime player worked...

These hikivision cams would not play through quicktime player but this does work in vlc.

rtsp://admin:12345@192.168.1.120:554/Streaming/Channels/1

An example VLC Media Player with rtsp://192.168.1.1001:554//Streaming/Channels/1 in my case for the main stream and rtsp://192.168.1.1001:554//Streaming/Channels/2 for the sub stream... just be sure to your camera's IP

Does one of you know the URL's for the hikvision NVR 7608?

The URL's mentioned in the thread do not work for me in VLC.

When I connect into the Poe switch I can get the camera streams (rtsp://192.168.1.1001:554//Streaming/Channels/2) fine But the NVR won't pass these through to the homenetwork (or is this possible)?

If else I could put the Poe switch in my home network, but with no way to turn the DHCP off....

I read this thread, and I tried with VLC, great it works !

Unfortunately, it only works in my home network, not outside

My question is : Can RSTP protocol be the issue (not tolerant, I mean I'm on the web and I reach my ISP router which forward to my internal router which forward to my hik cam, maybe RTSP protocol doesn't like so many hops) ?

FYI, port forwarding should be OK, because I reach my camera web interface from Internet, and I double checked, my port forwarding configuration is the same on both router for web and RTSP (except that port number changes of course).

My port translation :

  • (WEBUI) From Internet 11080 > ISP ROUTER > 11080 > INTERNAL ROUTER > CAMERA PORT 80
  • (RSTP) From Internet 11554 > ISP ROUTER > 11554 > INTERNAL ROUTER > CAMERA PORT 554

Thanks for your help.
