Hi,

 

Is there a good Wi-Fi cam with motion detect and notification that's NOT POE? In other words, can just be run from a wall adapter?

For indoors, hikvision 2432... has poe but can also be run via 12v adapter.

Yeah, the hikvision cube is nice.

There's also the GeoVision cubes which are available in wifi and take 5v plug in for power. They also have a pir sensor (as does the hikvision) which is better for picking up motion without every piece of dust and changing light setting it off.

The geo vision cube also has an actual visible led for light (also activated by motion)

I use one of these in a customers warehouse entrance and it works great.

These cams all look good. Do they all use a common software and IOS app? Or do they all use proprietary software and apps?

Both Geovision and Hikvision have there respective apps but there are also a number of apps and programs that support multiple camera makes and models.

Some if these include ip cam viewer and blue iris.

But what about setting up the camera? For instance, how do you set up the Hikvision & Geovision cams to do notification? And can you turn notification on and off with a genaric app? Or do Hikvison & Geovison have their own dedicated apps?
