badgerator 0 Posted December 9, 2014 Hi Folks, Ok so today I was out at a shooting range installing dome type security cameras, everything went fine until the last camera. I mounted it on a wall, adjusted zoom to mid point ish, and the tried to focus, the focus moved slightly then nothing, I opened the camera to see if the adjuster-screw-toothed-pillar had come away from the semi-circle adjuster ring, and nope it was still attached, I can move said focus ring manually and STILL no movement on focus. Not so strange maybe for one to have a fault, so I got out the spare cam I had with me, white dome, same type, same procedure and EXACTLY the same thing happened. If I wasn't bald already, I would be by now, no idea why this happened on 2 separate cams, or what the causes could be. So I guess I am wondering if anyone's had similar problems? badgerator 0 Posted December 9, 2014 Sorry : MODEL - EX-532 W http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CCTV-Camera-1000TVL-800TVL-Dome-Metal-2-8-12mm-Varifocal-waterproof-White-BNC-/281320426270 (Picture there) and MODEL 933 G Grey version of cam above, both are what i assume to be cheap chinese imports, they come in Black & Green boxes with no manufacturer, only the words "CCTV Color Camera" http://www.exvision.co.uk/1000tvl-28-12mm-lens-cctv-camera-13mp-sony-cmos-with-osd-menu-white-or-grey-3061-p.asp (picture there beside white version) I hope this helps you answer a question that's got very little to do with what they look like. Stanleyryan 0 Posted December 11, 2014 any photo showing? Try to turn your camera target to another place where around 10 meters far, checking if it is able focus correctly.

I know the camera style. I'd need to see a picture of the inside of yours though.
aibudo 0 Posted December 12, 2014 This isn't rare to me. I have had that happen numerous times with many different camera's. Appears that the lens isn't properly matched to the sensor. Only appeared to work properly with a certain distance from the subject. This is more common to me than the it should be.
