Email test fail

Recommended Posts

after reading lots of pages here and on google,

i can't send emails from the DVR,

this is very annoying,

my DVR (16 Channels) system is V4.02.R11.31152053.10001 (i guess its chinese , non brand one).

Build Date 2013-09-14 14:31:26

NatStatus DisEnable (what id that suppose to mean ????)

i can connect to the DVR with my mobile online.

i can connect from PC on WAN

but i never could email Alert or even send TEST email.

i use Google Email

already use :

port 25 , to aspmx.l.google.com SMTP SERVER

port 465 , with SSL checked, to smtp.gmail.com.

(this is google instruction: https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600?hl=en)

(used less secure password: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255)

no success at all with sending emails

i guess it something with the DVR no properly configured with network.

The DVR IP is local and Static, with 8.8.8.8 as the primary DNS Server.

any way to check it?

do any of the other "NETSERVICES" must be configured?

RTSP? ARSP ? DDNS? PPPOE? FTP? UPNP? NTP? DHCP?

maybe must do a firmware update (its very risky an there is no brand behind it).

any help would be pleased.

update:

i saw on some sites and also here , that the DVR firmware must be upgrade due to changes google made in there GMAIL.

can someone please help me find out my DVR Brand/Firmawre:

You might find YOUR OTHER POST USEFUL

Can you post an image of your dvr network screen

here,

i attached 2 photos,

do i missed something?

by the away,

1. PPPoE is not confirured now, it with "0", not "1". (the DVR is connected to a router)

2. my dynamic "ddns" is NOIP.ME, its not on the list of the settings, so maybe that the reason i cant set it working well in the DVR.

but still i dont thinks it suppose to have an influence on the EMAIL.

thanks for all the help.

YES it has a big influence on email ..... ESPECIALLY When your not even connected to any network looking at your pictures.

That is the reason it's not working ..... Even if you did a firmware you would still be in the same situation.

You need to first get your dvr onto your network

And your gmail port is also wrong ....

i'm a little bit confused.

what do you mean by:

"ESPECIALLY When your not even connected to any network looking at your pictures." ?

my DVR is connected to the network and i can see the streaming through WAN, LAN and mobile.

so i dont undertand exacly what you ment by :

"You need to first get your dvr onto your network"

and for GMail port, i already tried 465 with SSL.

thanks again for all your help.

Hi. The picture of your network is that how it is now ?

Subnet ....... It needs it if connected to a router ..... 255.255.255.0

if it was a calss C network, so it had to be subnet 255.255.255.0 (e.g. 192.168.1.1)

but it is Class A , 255.0.0.0 (e.g. 10.0.0.10)

if i wrong, i will try it,

but as far as i know, it have to be like it is now.

thanks.

So you have more than one router ???

You need to stop reading Google to find your problem

It's simple you need your dvr onto a network gmail will not work as it is .... Your dvr needs a way out to send.

You are best telling us how your network is set up

ok,

first i'll ask of this DDNS Configuration, beacause you say its a must .

so , should i register one of those in the ddns menu?

( CN99 / DynDns / Oray / NO-IP / MYQ-SEE )

i have NO-IP,( if it is NOIP.com.)

on other PC on the LAN, the NO-IP Client work perfect.

on the DVR, i dont know if the NO-IP connect ok, i have no feedback for good or bad connection....

any idea?

We have to work out how you view local and over the net ... Because your dvr says not connected.

What is your routers IP address .... And do you have more than 1 router

ok,

my apologize for not understanding.

i have only one router.

this router is connected to some PCs and the DVR.

all of them in one subnet , Class A. (10.0.0.0).

locally, i connect over the Lan to the DVR IP. (10.0.0.X)

over the net, i connect to my NO-IP account that brings me to the current dynamic IP of the router, and in the router i forwarded to the DVR.

all that works perfect.

update:

just found this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=33991

i think my acount settings are ok :

Why are you testing email from your PC ?? Why are you not doing it from It's much better if you do everything at your dvr .

Location means we're in the world are you. And who your ISP is
