Internet data consumption

Recommended Posts

HI ALL,

I have just installed an old camera system 6000 miles away from where I wish to view it. The internet package I have at the camera location gives me 2Gb per month I think.

I can view the cameras fine from my location, Im happy with the picture settings.

How many hours/minutes could I view this setup per day  to be within my 2Gb per month limit?

(Also the other setting are local ch 960H and net 720p)

I have 4 analog cameras and 2 fish eye IP cameras.

Thanks

Attached are the setting which I think influence the amount of data.1.thumb.jpg.b92ba55617639d4db9f6853a734b87f5.jpg

Hi. You are only viewing cif over your internet

but it would be hard to estermate your usage as there are lots of factors

the amount of cameras you view at a time and how much data is in each image.

There are isp that supply unlimited and also for mobile usage

thank you for the reply tomcctv.

so there are no settings that effect/change the quality of the picture (in turn the amount of Mb used) you see at the remote end? (the settings are just for what is saved to hard drive?)

I wanted an estimate for viewing all 6 cameras simultaneously. very little change in the camera images.

Is there not a program that can put on my receiving pc to measure how many Mb it guzzles?

Thanks.

Hi in your picture the column to the right it says stream cif which is your sub stream .... viewing remotely via pc or mobile

it will have 3 options in the pull down

qcif

cif

D1

set it from cif to qcif it will reduce your remote image quality but will save on data usage
