Make My own Power supply box for camera system

Recommended Posts

I wanted to hook up power supply box for my DVR camera system BNC type cable setup. I have a old alarm system Radionics D7212 system in a box in my garage. I wanted to know if is possible to turn it into a power supply for my camera system. Or am I just a idiot for even thinking such nonsense. I would appreciate any Help/Info someone might be able to share with me. Thank You for your time. Sean W

Hi  no it is not possible…. Passive sensors and magnetic sensors require very little power to run ….. usually between 1.5 to 2 amp

cctv cameras start at 1amp each ……. Yes there spec says 0.5millamp for cameras but always best working at 1amp each camera to allow for spike when IR and filter change at night

cctv power supplies are not expensive and made for the job

The only decent part you can re-use is the metal housing for something.
