Camera reset after failure

Recommended Posts

I've installed a camera about 1 1/2 foot above a Flat screen TV.

The camera may work fine for a month.  Then it goes offline and the only fix is to pull the camera down and hit the reset button.

I've changed camera's 3 times. (Including domes and turrets)

We're not above any can lights or florescents

I've ran new cat 6 attempting to fix.

I changed the NVR

This is a new install of Nelly's r-series

Am going to try replacing the camera with a UNV in the morning, but would like any thoughts you guys might have...   Could it be the TV?

Hope not, as that's clearly the best place to have the camera in the room.

Thanks in Advance!!

Hi. I have talked with Shaun a few times over the years very good guy

99% it is because of the tv

the camera in question I know very well …. Have installed 100s of them and are very good cameras with strong audio ….. made by a very good company

the problem is the cameras run warm as standard like most cameras and handles heat well.
but your camera placement is what’s giving you your problems

flat screen tvs also give out a lot of heat which rises upto your camera and adding to the existing heat internally already in the camera

i dont know which R series you are using but some have a SD card slot internal so to protect the card over heat protection is set lower that standard cameras

if you can I would move the camera to left or right of your tv …. Not directly above the tv we’re the tv heat is adding to your camera
