Dual monitor produces pinkish video stream

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever tried to dual monitor their DVR,

I'm getting all pinkish screens on the my secondary montitor.

Vid card used is an ATI 9600 ...

I realise you'd need specifics but I can't go into them

I'm just hoping someone has seen this problem before and can tell me what they did... thanks anyway =)

Only time I had a predominance of a colour on a monitor was when the monitor was not plugged in fully, meaning one of the colours was not connected, or when the cable had a bent or missing pin, or a snapped wire (causing same effect).

It may not be that, but those things have caused it for me in the past.

is the whole monitor pink or is just were the video picture should reside pink?

I've seen DVR "directdraw" functions cause pink screens on multiple monitors.

ah I think the directdraw ref. may be my problem...

As to answer the prev questions ...

I see my DVR client but only the boxes that would contain the multiple vidoes are solide pink... I shall look into the directdraw.

We have since chosen another path that may fav the client.

He's opted to switch from one monitor to the next instead...

Wouldn't want front staff to see the client checking some play back.

sounds like a directdraw problem, that is why it is good to go with a dvr card that has a built in video output.....this usually will avoid the "pink screen" problem
