GV-1480 Sytem Specs

First timer here. Please excuse me if these have been asked before.

Looking for recommendations on building a kickass 16 camera DVR with the GV-1480 I just returned a 16 channel DVR made by Q-SEE. System was easy to setup, but the network viewer was limited.

 

Questions:

1) Would you recommened any other card over the FV-1480?

 

2) What are recommended system specs

a) motherboard

b), powersupply

c) video card

d) memory

e) Raid

 

3) Are there server built by Dell/HP that would work fine with the GEovision out of the box?

 

4) Would like to control the PC with IR with a programmable remote. What solutions are you guys satisfied with?
