Changing from regular camera to a PTZ

We have a stationary camera that is in the ideal location for a PTZ camera. Is any additional wiring required for a PTZ versus regular cam?

You'll either need a pair of wires for the PTZ data or an up the coax system.

 

You'll also probably need 18 gauge or more power wire.

So basically there is no cost savings in changing from a regular cam to PTZ versus just installing a PTZ in a location that never had a camera.

Is it hard or easy to get to the wire run? What is the distance the wire is ran? If you need to manuever your view and this is the perfect spot, then I would say use it.
