Splat 0 Posted May 6, 2007 I still consider myself a greenhorn and this was my first day/night w/IR camera install. I'm not liking this picture and was wondering what, if anything, can be done to improve it. I can't get the pic to show here so please click on this link to see a nighttime capture shot: http://tinyurl.com/2lxmwf and here's a daytime capture: http://tinyurl.com/39eqpf I think pushing the glare hood back a little might help(?). The camera is a Nuvico NVCC-HW3895IR36N-D. Here's a link to its product page: http://tinyurl.com/2vqa2l Any help is really appreciated.
testweight 0 Posted May 6, 2007 I had this. If you look at the lense there is a rubber ring surrounding it. the ring must be tight against the glass or you get infra red bleedthrough from the leds. Thats what the ring is on the night picture. The way I cured it was to unscrew ther cover and pull the rubber ring further out. Hope that helps.

Splat 0 Posted May 7, 2007 Well, turns out it was the reflection off the glare shield. I moved it back, no longer in the FOV, and problem solved. Here's a shot after the adjustment: http://tinyurl.com/2r3d2d Cheers!
