Exactly how does high voltage AC affect cameras?????

Recommended Posts

Ever wondered what happeans when you have your cable run to close to AC?

Behold this was how I spent my morning

notice the camera we put in yesterday is looking a little........well look

at first I thought it was something wrong with the camera

trying to figure out what the heck is going on while hunched over looking at my laptop.

me explaining to the owner that I am have not a clue just yet

then I pull on the cable run and notice a moment of picture being more normal

( ya thats my "I am standing here and not having a clue what the hell just happeaned" look. I know I pose like a professional model. )

My wife calls is it my "duhhhhhh, which way did he go george" look.

I thought some of you would like to see how bad that made that camera look for future reference. I have never had that happean before to that extreme. I was confused for a little while there.

Thanks for sharing!

Also - How high was the AC and what was the source...wire, conduit, junction box?

Before I re-read the title I thought you meant Air Conditioning. heh

well we installed the cable it was 12 feet from the ground against the wall of inside wall of this manufacturing wharehouse. Well they later had a small room made and ran new conduit and the wire right beside the run of coax. So they had about 4 inches apart running parallel for like 150 feet. what kept baffling me was i did not know they ran new AC.
