Well, 250GB HDD on motion recording will most probably give you around 7 days & the remote view is very slow. It's Mjpeg. I've seen a lot of variations on this DVR with different front panel but I think all of them is OEM from Korea. If your customer can live with the the above shortcomings then it should be ok!

Anyone have experience using video enhancing software to get a clearer image from recorded avi clips?

Already tested the trial version of Topaz moment, it's good but not good enough. Come to think of it maybe the capture video is really so poor that even the best forensic software might not be able to do anything. Waiting for a reply from Cognitech though regarding their demo version!

The picture quality is decent for a pinhole camera but I never did make use of the PIR so don't know how reliable they are. There's an option for audio as well.

Most of the video server have a RS232/485 & also support for PTZ protocols. Therefore all you need is a decoder board to PTZ.

Which IP Cameras/Video Server are you using in conjucntion with the Visual Sentry? Also, what is the maximum channels that you have tried?

The I3DVR does! They have a proprietary s/w for the Palm OS.

Well, I too was an ACTI believer but that was before I went to the SecuTech show. After seing some of their competitions, my conclusion now is that they maybe in the 3rd or 4th place at most. However, since I only have the chance to see the demo, the actual robustness of the said VS from their competitors will only be known after actual field testing. I have a 4 channel sample from 1 of them & I'll give you guys the IP once I put it up.

If you can place an antenna outside of both the buildings & the distance is not more then 500m then I would suggest using an IP Camera in conjunction with a long range wifi AP.

Pardon me but it's stated there that it's a simplex. Triplex means that when you are playing back the recorded video, it's still recording! Not this model I think! Also, when you are remote viewing it does not change your local cameras position.

Forgot to mention that both Rory's & Thomas site can be view after installing Opera browser on my PPC.

Are you using Netfront? It should work. You can try Opera Mini if Netfront don't but it seems this phone do not have any OS but can support J2ME. Strange that you cannot view Rory's site!

You have to give the exact model of the phone. Different phones have diiferent OS so it depends on what model you have.

You'll need to install a 3rd party browser eg. Thunderhawk or Opera for the PPC. PIE cannot handle Java. Javascript & Java is totally different! Have sent you a PM earlier, Rory!

What DVR are you using? Diginet?

You mean you cannot even view it locally? Normally, they will come with a utility call IP edit or something similar. With this software you can detect the camera IP & change it to match your own network IP.

No picture on my PDA. Java or ActiveX? It works on my desktop though.
